Chapter 7 - Character Actors

(7:30 AM)

"Are you sure it's safe to be in a call while you're driving?" Chimon's troubled voice was heard inside the car.

"It's okaaaay," Nanon insisted while steering the wheel.

"Like I know you want to talk about this but can't it wait until you're safely settled on set?" Chimon still continued to convince Nanon to drop their call for now.

"No," Nanon replied. "We're about to shoot that scene today and we haven't had a proper conversation about what happened."

"What do you want me to say?" the older of the friends asked. "You two kissed. And obviously, it meant something more to you or else we're not having this much of a discussion right now. Why haven't you two talked about it anyway?"

"My mom and Nonnie happened," Nanon said recollecting the scenario in his head.

"They caught you?"

"No, dumbass. They knocked," Nanon explained.

"And then?"

"And then we had dinner. Ohm stayed but we barely talked or even looked at each other. He left after dinner and has yet to return my messages," Nanon answered while pulling over the parking area near their filming set.

"You know what, it doesn't matter. I'm here already. I'll just talk to him before we shoot," the younger actor said grabbing his small backpack from the backseat.

"Tell me all about it later okay? Glad I helped," Chimon said.

"Helped???" Nanon was about to protest but Chimon has already dropped the call. "Asshole."

He went straight to the dressing room where both he and Ohm get their hair and a little make up done.

Everyone was there. Drake made a slight wave at him.

P'Fah, upon noticing Nanon's arrival, signaled to him to be seated down in front of the mirror so that she could start her task.

She immediately handed Nanon his change of clothes, but he barely noticed them being given to him because he's searching around the crowd.

"Nong, go get changed," P'Fah said getting his attention.

"Uh, P'. Has Ohm got in already?" Nanon inquired.

"Ah. I heard he called in a sick day, we'll shoot your scenes with the other casts today," she informed him before slightly pushing him towards another room to get changed.

(7:30PM)

After the shoot, Nanon was accompanied by P'Aof back to his car discussing some story guides and acting pointers.

A couple of meters away, they spotted Chimon kinda just chilling in front of Nanon's car with his face mask on.

"Chimon-ja!" P'Aof greeted the young actor.

"Good evening, P'!" he responded.

"You're both hanging out tonight?"

"Yes, P'. I'd ask you to come but it seems like you still have things to attend to," Chimon said.

"Sadly, yes. I have to shoot some more scenes tonight."

"You do?" Nanon was surprised. He thought they were all done for the day.

"Yeah. Don't worry. You've done yours. I know you're all on tight schedule these days. Anyway, see you tomorrow, okay?" P'Aof waved good bye to the two.

"Take care na, 'P!"

Nanon unlocked his car and went in while Chimon ran to get in from the other side.

"How long have you been standing here," Nanon asked as soon as Chimon was seated.

"Not that long," he replied while putting on his seatbelt. "So? Tell me what happened."

"Nothing happened. He didn't show up. Staff told me he's sort of unwell today."

"Really? Do you want us to go check up on him?"

"Yeah. We're going there right now. It's just...," Nanon hesitated for one second. He's not that certain if they could actually talk since he's sick.

"I could make up some excuse if you want to talk with him alone," Chimon said assuming Nanon's thoughts.

"Of course I want to talk to him alone," Nanon replied. "But it's really not a good time right now, and I don't want him to think we're doing some kind of intervention thingy."

Nanon started the car and drove towards the main driveway.

"Okay," Chimon said, opening his phone. "Let's go get something to eat after. I haven't had dinner yet."

Nanon pulled over in front of Ohm's house where his brother Tanat just came out from carrying a trash bag.

The two friends got out of the car to meet Ohm's younger brother.

"P'Nanon! P'Chimon, what's up?" Tanat greeted them.

"Hi, Nong. How's your brother?" Chimon asked.

"Uhh.. he's fine," he answered in an unsure tone. "Why? Did something happen?"

The two friends looked at each other.

"Um. He didn't show up for the shoot today. They said he called in a sick day," Nanon said.

"We're here to check up on him," Chimon added.

Tanat was frowning hard, "Huh? No. He just left. He said he's shooting for your upcoming show. He's definitely not sick because he was playing a game with me all day."

"W-we just came from the set. He just left?" Chimon asked clearly confused, while Nanon stood there waiting for Tanat to answer, so many thoughts going on in his mind.

"Yeah. He's the one who told me to take out the trash cause I lost in our game."

"Thanks for telling us, Nong. We'll be going now. Have a great night," Nanon said getting in the car not waiting for a reply.

"Uhh.. See you around, nong," Chimon waved goodbye before going back in the car.

Both of them were quiet their whole drive to a nearby food park.

"Is everything okay?" Chimon broke the silence after Nanon had parked.

"Do you think he's avoiding me?" Nanon asked.

"Um. Honestly, I wouldn't know. I don't really know what's going on between you two."

*Ding!

Nanon's phone lit up.

"It's P'Fah. She said Ohm's at the set right now. It makes sense now when P'Aof said they still have some shooting to do," Nanon said reading the message on his phone.

In Chimon's mind, it really does look like their friend is trying to keep away. For whatever reason. And Nanon really seems quite pissed off right now.

"You know what, screw him. I don't care what he thinks he's doing, or whose it's good for. I'm just gonna forget about what happened," Nanon bursts out, getting out of the car and slamming the door behind him.

"Shiaaaaa! What's with these two? Just get together already! Fuck," Chimon rolled his eyes before following his friend outside.
