This morning, Nobara woke up with a headache. She didn't get sick very often, so she got up and tried to ignore it. But it was there, and when she sat down with the others for dinner in the evening, it had gotten worse and she felt like she was gonna pass out at any time. Still, she didn't wanna show anyone because she felt like she would be a burden if someone had to look after her in times like these, where curses are waiting around every corner.

After dinner, all she wanted was to just lay in her bed. She got up from the table to walk to her dorm, but she stood up too fast and that was the final push for her body. She fell, and her eyesight suddenly faded. "I can't see anything! Help!" she screamed. Suddenly, she felt arms wrap around her waist and lift her up. "It's alright, I got you. Just what is happening right now? You look... sick", Nobara heard Maki's voice. "I'm sorry..."
After a few seconds of walking, they reached Nobara's dorm and she felt that she was being placed in her bed. "If you're sick, why didn't you say so? Nobara, you really can be stupid at times!" Maki sounded like she was angry, but there was also something else in her voice, and that was... concern. "But you're cute even when you're acting stupid like this... It's starting to drive me insane", Maki mumbled, more to herself, but Nobara heard it. "I'm gonna make tea for you. Stay in bed, okay? Your eyesight should come back in no time, it's a reaction of your body shutting down the parts that can be dispensed in order for you to stay conscious. Just rest now, please. I'm sure it's nothing serious." Nobara heard Maki leaving the room and closing the door. "She cares about me so much... That's so sweet of her..." Nobara regained her view after a minute or so, like Maki said. She came back after a few minutes and put a tablet with tea on it next to the bed. "Here you go. You see me now?" Maki asked. "Yes, you were right, my eyes are okay now." "Good. Don't get out of bed. Rest up. You need it. And next time, tell me right away! Gojo-sensei will understand if you take a day off because you're not feeling well!" "Yes. I'm sorry. I just thought it'd be a burden if-" "No", Maki cut her off. "You being ill is not a burden, it's not your fault after all. Don't blame yourself. Also, I like taking care of you, so there's nothing inconvenient about it.... Need anything, call me. Here's your phone", Maki said and put Nobara's phone on her nightstand next to the tablet. "Thank you... Maki?" "Yes?" "So... You like taking care of me?" Maki blushed. "I, uh, yes, it's just... You look... cute when you're ill or laying in bed... I-I mean, of course you always look cute, but, you know... Oh no what the hell did I just say... I'm sorry, this must've sounded so creepy to you..." Maki felt so embarrassed. "Maki. Look at me", Nobara demanded in a soft voice. "It's not creepy. It's incredibly adorable." "What- Adorable??" Maki looked at her with big eyes. "Yes. You are adorable. Thank you for wanting to take care of me, Maki." Nobara paused, not sure if she should say the next sentence which came to her mind, but then she decided to go for it since she could pretend to have said it out of sickness later, if it turned out she was wrong and Maki didn't reciprocate her feelings. "I love you."

Maki's pupils grew huge and her eyes sparkled, she blushed even more and silently asked: "F... For real? You... I love you too, I just never thought, I never imagined, you, me, I.... Can I hug you?" Nobara laughed. "Sure! What a question!" Maki threw her upper half onto Nobara and buried her face in the crook of Nobara's neck. "This is the best day of my life", she mumbled into the pillow. " "Well, mine too", Nobara answered.
