More Than Friends?

~Chapter Seven: The Movie~

We get to mall after 2 long hours of waiting for Mrs. Walsh to get back from arresting my parents. We pass Hottopic as we walk in and I stop to see a sign. "Hiring today! Are you a band freak with a need for money? Come here! We have job openings and we will pay you $15 every hour!" I say mentally as I read the sign. "Hey, Melissa. Could I stop in Hottopic real quick?" I ask Mrs. Walsh. She turns to me. "Of course, just hurry along. Remember, you and Alex have to watch Dean." She says politely. "Yes 'mam." I reply, and I run over to Hottopic. I get to the front desk. "Hey, I know you guys don't do walk ins for job applications but, could you give me a shot?" I ask the girl at the desk. "Yeah, give me a moment." She says, and she starts walking to the back. She come back about 5 minutes later. "Here you go. Just send it to us in the mail or come back and hand it to us once you're finished filling it out." She says in a very monotone voice. "Okay, thanks!" I say as K run out of Hottopic with the job application in hand. "Okay, I'm back." I say, but as soon as I walk up Alex takes it from me. "What's this?" He asks. "Job application. If your mom is going to let me stay with you guys I at least want to be able to pay for my own food and stuff." I say but Mrs. Walsh cuts into our conversation after I've finished. "Alice dear, no need to do that. I can surely pay for your clothes and food." She says as if I'm her daughter. "Thank you but, I'm 17, and I'm already putting a burden on you by staying at your place. It's the least I could do." I reply. "Alice dear, don't fret. Now I'll put the application in my purse so you can have for when I come to pick you guys up afterwards, I have errands to run and you two have to babysit Dean." She says. "Okay." I reply. Mrs. Walsh walks off and Alex and I begin walking Dean to the theater. We get there, hand them our tickets and go in. Dean runs all the way up to the third row. "Here guys! Here!" He shouts at us. We don't oblige and just sit down next to him. At one point during the movie Alex for up to get snacks for all 3 of us. I gave him money to pay for mine,p but, he wouldn't take it. About 20 minutes pass by, and Alex still hasn't returned. Dean start talking to me. "Alice, where's Alex. He was supposed to be back. Where is he?!" Dean demands. "I don't know Dean. Let's go check." I say as I get up and grab Dean's hand. I drag him out of the theater and we check to see if Alex is at the snack bar. He's not. "Shit, where is he?" I say. Dean gasps. "You said a bad word Alice!" He yells at me. "Calm down Dean. Geez. Now, go into the boys bathroom and see if he's in there." I tell him. "Okay~! ^^" Dean chirps. He runs off to the boys bathroom. "Damn, how much energy does that kid have? And he's only what, 6?" I say to myself. "I know, he's very energetic. Especially for a 6 year old." Alex says as he walks up behind me. "Where the hell were you?!" I ask. "I was in the bathroom." He lies. "No you weren't. Dean's in there right now looking for you. Kid said he wanted his damn food. XD" I say. We both begin laughing and Dean runs out of the bathroom. He runs up to us. "Where were you?!" He's has worriedly, "And why are you laughing?!" He asks as he makes a 'mad' face. "Can't tell you." Alex replies. "Well, looks like we aren't getting back in. Where do you guys wanna go?" I ask. Alex looks to me. "Wherever, I really dot care." He says. "Me neither." I add. Dean looks up to the both of us. "Can we go to Hottopic?!" He yells at us. "Yeah, sure. Wait...I need to buy a new phone... But, shit. I don't have any money left. Damn." I say. "Yeah, okay Alice.. Can we go to Hottopic now?!" Dean yells once more as he tugs on Alex's shirt. "Yeah, come on kid." Alex says as we all start walking to Hottopic. We go to Hottopic and spend the rest of the time there until Alex's mom comes back to pick all of us up.
