The day after The Great War was a dark day for the Ender Knights. Hadion Mendoris, the son of King Rendor and brother of Varek Mendoris, had died. His funeral took place in the End, but it wouldn't end there. Many of Varek's viewpoints of his life, his world, had been changed.

Varek held the Mendoris Master Staff, King Rendor held Hadion's body in his arms, his armor removed. His faded markings haunted the head of the now only Ender Prince. Rendor placed his body on the ground, and with Ender Magic, let it sink. It sunk 6 feet under the End Stone, and a chunk of End Stone had risen. Varek put Mendor onto the stone, and watched as his own markings formed onto the Endstone grave. He gave the staff to an Ardoni that had followed him, and they returned to the portal.

Varek walked up to the grave, and sat next to it.

"I'll give you a moment." King Rendor's voice said, as he turned to the Great Hall of the End. As Varek heard the door shut, he began going on a rant.

"I always said "I got you, Brother" I always did! I told you every single time you doubted yourself that I would be there, and I just stood there as that demon shoved his axe into you, and I hesitated, and let you die!" Varek yelled, he felt a hand on his shoulder. The first act of Varek's god powers were shown. He turned, the ghost of Hadion had stood there, he walked around Varek and sat on the other end of the grave.

"You need to stop blaming yourself for something you couldn't change." He said, Varek just stared at the ghostly figure of his brother in awe.

"How? How are you here?" Varek asked, Hadion chuckled and leaned back.

"You." He said blatantly.

"Don't let my death bring you down... I love you brother, don't forget it. I will always be here." Hadion said, disappearing. Varek stared down, he bolted up and entered the dinner hall in the End, many cups and golden utensils laid on the table. Varek whipped his sword out, and screamed barbarically.

"God dammit!" Varek yelled, whipping his sword and slamming everything off of the table. It wasn't long until Calian walked into the room, wondering what the ruckus is. He walked into the room to see Varek standing on the table, curled into a ball and groaning in pain. His sword laying flat on the table.

"Varek! I know you're in pain but you do not have to make such violent actions!" Calian yelled, Varek's body unraveled, he glared at Calian.

"And how would you know! You don't know what it's like to lose family!"

"Uron was my family! He was my brother! By blood too!" Calian yelled, Varek didn't know they were biologically brothers.

"We were farmers, the eye called for us and we answered, being the first two Ender Knights alongside your father." Calian said, Varek just stood there in agony. He couldn't take it.

"I don't want to hear your backstory! I want my brother back!" Varek yelled, Calian knew what to say immediately.

"So do I! I want them both back! But you don't see me going on a rant and destroying everything!" Calian said, King Rendor arrived with a teleport.

"Leave us."

"Son, I know that you miss Hadion, I do too. He was my first born, and he wanted the best for you, he even gave up heir to you-" he was cut off.

"I don't want to be your heir!"

The room fell silent. His voice echoing back was the only sound coming back to Varek's ears.

"Surely that is your grief talking." King Rendor said, trying to look into Varek's mind. Varek thought for a moment, then backed up his statement.

"That was the first sentence I said with reason since his death, father. Find another candidate, because I won't be caught dead with that crown."
