It's 12am,midnight. The dark skies are illuminated with the bright crescent moon. It's silent as many stay safe in their homes awaiting the new day.The smell of smoke has died down from the factories as they shutdown producing for the day.William gets himself dressed, grabs his coat and heads outside.

Will waits for Jack on his front porch thinking over what is about to do."Worst case scenario is that I lose my job or we both go to jail..." Will thinks to himself "Why did I agree to this again?" He shakes his head. "Hopefully we can find something useful out of all of this."

"Will!" shouts Jack as he runs up to William down the street. Jack stops and takes a breather as he stands in front of William."You ready!" He smiles a little too over excited.

"You know we're checking out a crime scene right? Normally people would be a bit more grim about this..." He says tilting his head.

"I know just didn't know if you were really going to do this or not and this is the first bit of detective work I get to do." He reaches his hand to William.

William grabs Jacks hand and pulls himself up "Don't get too excited we're only taking a small look at things then we're leaving."

"We'll see about that!" says Jack as he heads out onto the street "Let's get going then."

"Soooo who we looking for first?" asks Jack following William down the street

"The first victim was Mrs Victoria Burnham, She was married three times and she has been widowed twice."

"Fishy,well....what happened to the third one?" say Jack cutting off Will.

"Missing, many have theories, but no one could touch her or get any evidence. Some believe she even paid off the police." he scoffs "She manages one of London's biggest steel production factories."

"I feel sorry for her husbands....When did she die?"

"February the 16th."

"That's about 8 months ago right?"

"Yes about 8 months ago did the killings start, let's hope there won't be another one." He says looking grimly.

"Don't worry with the both of us on this we'll get that killer in no time." says Jack trying to cheer him up.

"Yeah sure.." Says Will. They turn a corner and in front of them is this tall shadowy House, no lights are on in the inside so there seems like no one is home.

"She was killed in her home." Will says walking up to the door "The door was broken the lost time I was here ,but it seems like they fixed it...hopefully they didn't tamper with any other evidence.."

Will looks at the lock and mumbles to himself. "What's wrong?" asks Jack to Will "I'm thinking of how to get in."

"Oh don't worry about that!" smiles Jack as he gets on one knee and starts to pick at the lock. "You know how to lock pick?" questions Will

"Yep when I was a kid my cousins over seas taught me how, it was useful when mum would lock me up in my room when I was bad."

"I..I see well on to it then." says Will backing up.

*CLICK* "And there the doors unlocked." He says proudly grinning to himself.

Will moves pass Jack and enters the home it's been months since his last visit here and all he can remember is the gruesome murder that befell this place. The smell of dried blood still stains the air.Jack soon enters the home as well and looks around. It's a bit dark so he shuts the door and lights a lantern.

"Well...were was the murder?" asks Jack

"Follow me." say William. They walk pass expensive vases and paintings some of the lady herself, all the painting with her in it have been sewn back together after being slashed at by the killer. The wooden boards have been recently varnished. Will leads Jack into the living room were the murder was committed.

"This is where we found the body." says William pointing to the table in the middle of the living room, there appears to be slash marks on the table and dry blood in between the cracks. Will walks around the table and replays the scene in his head. "The victim's body was found on top of the large coffee table between the two double seated couches. The body laid flat on top of it with a butcher's knife impaled into her chest which was the lethal wound that killed her almost instantly." Will says out loud to himself as Jack follows along.

"But that wasn't her only wound." William bends down on the carpet admiring the small scattered blood stains "She had been nailed to the table with her wrists and not only that but the killer used her own factories branded steel nails which shows that...that the killer had a vendetta against her."

"Well was there anything stolen?" asks Jack

"Actually no." says Will getting of the floor "Nothing stolen proving it was personal." He walks to the paintings "He made sure he got ever photo with her face on it."

"Normally serial killers choose a random victim and act on that right, so was she just an unlucky person huh?"say Jack watching William

"No,I believe that she wasn't some random person..she was targeted" says William "Why though?"

"Perhaps its because of her husband's deaths and disappearance?"

"May have been that ,but our murderer seems too young to be truly affected by their deaths for it was decades ago when they were out of the picture."

"But we shouldn't rule that out right?"

"Right." answers Will

William and Jack continues to investigate the area of the house when *CRASH*

"Oops" says Jack in a worried tone,he had knocked down one of the many vases there out the house."No one lives here so we should be fin-"

"Whose down there!!" Shouts a man upstairs

Both Jack and Will hid behind the furniture. As they hear big footsteps come down the stairs. "I thought you said no one lived here!" Whispers Jack

"No one's supposed live here!"

"Well they do!" says Jack "Many they won't notice that we're here..."

The man now on the first floor. They can both hear the man walking towards them as the floor boards creaks.
