Without opening my eyes, I adjust my position and find I am no longer in my chair, but in a bed..hmm I must have fallen asleep reading. Around chapter eight I had gotten really into the book and ended up reading all day..the last thing I remember was Scarlet finally marrying the rich guy that she actually loves. I rolled over in the bed and found it was larger than the one I had been sleeping in. Out of curiosity I opened my eyes. "Uggghhhh." I groaned and rolled over. I was in Damon's king sized bed in the middle of his now sunlit room. As I moved, something else adjusted next to me.

"Look who's finally awake." Ugh I could even hear the smirk on his idiot face.

"Why am I in your bed Damon?" I ask, running out of my patience with him. "Couldn't get any conscious girls in here?" I quickly sit up and push the covers off.

"Gosh, someone's feisty today." He says, rolling his eyes. "You fell asleep in the library and I didn't feel like carrying you all the way to your room. I slept on the couch downstairs, relax." I groan again before hopping off the bed and stomping past Damon to get to my room on the other side of the third floor, near Stefan's. "You're cute when you're angry!" Damon calls behind me.

"Shut up!"

I slam my door when I reach my room. It's not exactly my room, its just a storage room that Stefan helped me move a bed into, but I've gotten pretty comfy here. The walls have huge windows that reach from the floor to the ceiling, giving the room a nice open feel. Most of the storage boxes are pushed against the far wall, and my twin bed sits parallel to the door. Right now the room is a bit of a mess, considering the majority of my stuff is either piled in a suitcase, or on the floor. Elena had brought most of my stuff from her house, where I had ended up living when my dad left..the loft was just not my style. Luckily, Elena and I get along well, and make pretty good "roommates". Plus, her brother is hot..

I'm sitting on my bed brooding about Damon, when there's a knock on the door. Speak of the devil. I hop off my bed and swing the door open to see a sleepy Stefan. "Hey what's up? You look tired. Did you sleep at all?"

"No, not really. So if you and Damon could put off yelling at each other till like noon, that would be great." He says, before walking back towards his room. I sigh..maybe we will end up getting sick of each other faster than I thought.

I quickly change my clothes into something better for a workout, and slip down to the basement wear there's a bigger room set up with some training equipment. Spending my time reading is great..but sometimes I need to let off just a little more steam.  I can't help but smile when I walk in and inhale the familiar scent of carved wood. I swear if Damon tries anything else I'm gonna stick him in the neck with one of these..I think as I examine the wood spikes lining the shelves at the end of the room. I pick one of the duller ones and begin sharpening it to a perfect point. My dad's commands and strategies begin running through my mind in an all too familiar way. I walk up to the dummy in the corner and start running through attack patterns with my now lethal stake. I fall into a effortless rush of steps and strikes. I go to throw my arm back for the killer stab, when a strong grip catches my upper arm, stopping me. "What the hell?!" My instincts kick in and I grab the hand holding my arm and use a forceful elbow to push the person to the ground.

"Hey, hey, hey! Geez, it's just me Nichole." Say Damon from the ground.

"What are you doing down here? Can't leave me alone for two seconds?" I ask, applying more pressure to elbow, which is now jabbing him in the chest.

"Relax, I just thought you could you some pointers." He says, rolling his eyes. "For example.." Without warning, he flips me over, grabbing my waist, and reversing our positions. I grunt as my back hits the hard ground with force. "Don't try to pin down an opponent you know is stronger without injuring them first." He finishes, now smirking. I stutter to come up with a smart retort, but I can still feel his hands on my waist....just a little distracting..

"Um. Thanks I'll keep that in mind." I mumble glancing away from his smoldering blue eyes, but I still feel them on me. Without moving I glance back to his eyes, meeting them dead on. Then, startling me, he leans closer and kisses me like it's perfectly normal. Without even thinking I kisses back, as his hands grip tighter around my waist and being to slide slowly down to my thighs. His lips begin to kiss roughly as his tongue glides into my mouth, where a moan escapes. "Damon.." I mumble into the kiss. "Wait, stop." I break away and an effort to escape from under him. He knows he could easily keep me in place but he lets me move. I stand up quickly. "What the hell was that Damon?! You just.. you just kissed me!"

"Yup." He says calmly, before standing up himself.  All i can do is let out a frustrated sigh.

"Uggghhh I hate you!" I shout. In my rage I turn and send a swift round house his way. I regret it as he easily grabs my foot, holding my leg in the air.

"Ooh, flexible." He winks, before letting my foot fall to the floor and walking out.
