(A/N: I'm splitting the concert into chunks, this is part 1)
I took a deep breath, trying to steady my shaky hands that were practically in convulsions. Louis wrapped his arm around my shoulders, trying to soothe me.
"Calm down, you look gorgeous, and you're going to be a huge hit. It's only for a bit, and you will receive gummy bears after all of this, curtosy of me." I swear my mouth became a waterfall at the words gummy and brears.
"How'd you know I love gummy brears?" he grinned.
"Your headphones." I facepalmed as I remembered when we were listening to stuff off of my phone to figure out what I could do for my set, I'd used my gummy bear headphones.
"Oh, right." I sighed, running my hands through my curls.
"Stop worrying, I'm going to be right offstage the whole time in case if something goes wrong, okay? Not that anything will." he added hastily, seeing my frightened look. I started obsessivly rubbing my hands, a telltale sign that I was getting antzy. A worker thrust a microphone into my hand. Louis looked at me worriedly as he saw my hands shake, the shaking apparant now that I had the mic in my hand.
"Do you want me to come with you for the first song?" he said gently.
"You'd do that?"
"If it makes you feel more confident, then absolutly. We got you into this mess, I'll help you out." I wrapped my arms around his upper torso (louis is 5'9", I'm 5'3", what was I supposed to do?), pulling him into a hug. He chuckled and hugged me back.
"Thank you, so much." I said into his shirt, and I pulled away immediatly, making sure that I hadn't gotten lipstick on his shirt. Lou could have killed me. Louis called for his mic, and then a voice said that I was on. Louis took my hand and led me to the door, where there was a huge roar. We both stuck our earplugs in, and stepped out into the blinding lights.
Needless to say, I was stunned.
The sheer amount of girls in there was astonishing. It was a stadium that could hold half a million people, but it looked as if it was completly filled. Louis and I looked at each other.
"Amazing, huh?" I nodded rapidly."smile." he said, leading me to the front of the stage arm in arm, and I managered a smile of my own on the way.
"Hello Minneapolis!" Louis yelled into his mic, which I could hear in my earpeice. the crowd, ( which I could still hear but with much less consequences than iIwould if I didnt have the earpeice in) went absolutly insane as Louis came out with me.
"Are you guys excited?" I heard an affirmative shout.
"I'm sorry to say that due to a family emergency, our opening act, Camaryn, will not be joining us tonight. We hope and pray for the family. Today, as well, Harry will not be joining us." there was ahuge amount of booing as he paused, which was to be expected.
"I know, I know. we all love Harry."
"YES WE DO!" screamed a girl in the second row. I chuckled.
"We all love Harry, but unfortunatly he is in bed with a fever of a hudered and two, and pneumonia. We're very sorry about that. But..." he slung his arm over my shoulders. "This midget, here-"
"Hey! Girls, was that very nice?" I pouted, and the audience laughed as well as Louis.
"Fine, then, this VERY small girl, here, is going to save the day!" i rolled my eyes at the comment, but took over announcing anyway.
"Well, Louis, I'm no superman, but for all of ya'll I'll be superhuman." I quoted, earning a couple laughs from the crowd. "I want to be very clear, I'm not going to steal Harry's spot in the band. This is a one time thing, I promise. Harry will be back for Milwaukee next week." there was a cheer. "Now, for a bit more on me. I'm an American, and I've lived in this area all of my life. I love gummy bears, gummy worms, chocolate, and" I paused. "And I am a directioner." at the moment I metioned that I was a directioner, the crowd instantly warmed up.
