I observed Marshall as he was tumbling out of my office, barely standing up on his own two feet. I could see the effects working very well. At least they weren't lying when they said it was authentic, I would've killed each and every last one of them if they didn't pay me all that money just to try out the dumb toy. I almost feel bad for the kid, but after almost punching Ume like that, I can't really forgive him.
If anything happened to Ume, I'd feel so guilty. Quip has only known her for a few days now, but he's attached. I'm glad he finally has someone to be around other than me, and he's learning great family values since he never had a very organized family himself. At least it's better than what Ume has now, being alone so often and all. I know those two will get along, maybe teach each other a few things, like you shouldn't want to take over the whole world.
I knew that the stupid angel boy he hangs out with so much would help him somehow, so I'm gonna give them a deal. I can't have King live, it's for the money. I need to see how this show plays out, it's quite...entertaining.
After sitting back at my desk, I picked up my shiny black phone and dialed a number. It rang a few times, before the man who I wanted to speak to finally picked up.
"Klover? What do you want? Do you know what you've done?!--"
"If you let King die, then your little flower child lives. If you let King live, then your little flower child dies.""Wait, you mean Aza--"
No questions needed, I hung up the phone. He should know that I mean what I say, and when I mean what I say, I follow through with it.
I set the phone down and looked up at the door. I could hear Lulu's voice on the other side.
With her sweet and quiet voice, Lulu said, "S-sir, someone is here to see you."
"State your name and purpose." I replied.
"It's Rime, I'm not sure if you remember--"
"Come in. Lulu, leave us be for a while."
"Y-yes sir!"
She quickly walked back to the bar, her usual location, and Rime walked through the door with a disappointed look on her face.
Concerned, I asked, "Hey, what's wrong, dear?"
"Why would you do such a thing?"
"Wait, what are we talking about?"
"I saw you drag King back to your office, why would you treat a teenager like that?"
"First of all, he's 18 so he's an adult. Second of all--"
"I don't want to hear your excuses, Greed."
Wait...what did she just say? Greed? She knows who I am? W--...what is the meaning of this? Maybe it was because I showed off in public, but she doesn't seem like--
Then it hit me. She must be one of my kind.
"No one wonder you were so good at winning me over, Ace of Hearts."
