The sound of the water resonates around me, the feel of the coarse sand in between my toes, the cool and gentle breeze of the wind flowing by my face. I am sitting down in a beach chair along with an umbrella to keep the sun out, enjoying my day, until a familiar voice calls out to me.

???: "Daaad!!"

I slowly open my eyes to reveal a child running towards me with a smile stretched across her face while holding an object I couldn't make out

???:"dad look at this! It's a hermit crab, cool right? Can I keep it??"

I look at the crab in disbelief and back at her with a chuckle and a smile of my own

"I don't think that's possible hun, I don't think crabs would survive if you were to take them away from their natural habitat. Now go on, put the little guy back where you got him."

Honestly, I lied. I wouldn't imagine my daughter bringing home a crab, only to have it snip on my nose during my sleep; no sir.

???: "Awww fiiine."

She playfully pouts as she goes back to the ocean shore to put the crab back in its place. I then frown as I look down on my SHD watch to only show the time, and nothing else, fearing that it might soon have the orange ring around it, and praying that it never does.

???2: "Amilia still trying to take sea creatures home again?"

I was startled for a second, but quickly relaxed as I noticed the women behind me, hugging my neck."

"Heh, always. Honestly, I'm afraid she's never going to stop trying."

???2: "well she is your daughter after all; so determined to get what she wants."

"You might be right Casey, but she also has your stubbornness too ya know."

The 2 of us laugh as we continue to watch Amilia from the beach chairs. Casey then walks around and sits on the spare chair next to mine. She takes a big breath and just enjoys the view of the beach and our daughter having a great time. We enjoy the silence the sounds of the beach and Amelia's laughter gently hit our ears. She then turns on her side and looks at me with her soft and gentle smile with bright, amber eyes.

"What is it, hun?"

I ask, waiting for her to respond, but all I got was a smile along with a serene expression.

Casey: "How did I get so lucky meeting you? Where would my life be at right now if I hadn't met you?"

I turn to look at her straight in the eyes as I reply with my response

"I could say the same thing. To wake up every morning with a beautiful wife whose gorgeous amber eyes can pierce any man's soul; a loving daughter that brings so much life and joy into our lives...what more can a man want, other than to be with you, my love?"
