The world is an unfair, unjust place full of people who either fight for the majority....or for themselves. People will flock to villainy or heroism with just one, single event that had transpired in their lives. It just takes one bad day to push a fledgling mind to a dark or good place...

...For the young, 5-year-old Izumi...She was reaching her limit....

One year had passed since the quirk doctors told her of her quirklessness. The untold nightmares it had brought upon the poor child's mind was immeasurable. For some, they'd shrug it off and look at the mere prospect of just a life like that....not a quirk for others to judge them by. Maybe they would be more respected for their feats then...but Izumi? She's a different story. She had always wanted to be a hero, no matter what it takes. Even just having a small, immeasurably weak quirk would have been enough to keep that spark alight...the spark for her dreams to become a reality...

Yet all it took were five words...five words to completely break her dreams apart....

....Sorry kid, it ain't happening.

What sort of karma had befallen this young soul? She always tried her best in everything, was always so sweet and innocent to everyone, no matter how they treated her. And yet....the work just kept hitting her with more and more pain.

It started with the doctors, the ultimate rejection that hit her with such a shock, it shook her to her very core....

The next, it was her own mother never even comforting her with some hope in her words that she still could try, no matter what had happened....just a sorry from her lips. It tore her up inside when she could not get her mother just to say what she needed to hear to get newfound hope....

Then it was the bullying, her dreams being spat out to her constantly, some referring to her as the "quirkless loser" or "deadweight" of everyone in their class....

One of the deepest nails, however, was the ultimate attacks of a certain Katsuki Bakugo, or "Kacchan" as she affectionately called him. Back then, she had a sort of crush on the kid....he was strong, brave, and funny at times when it came own to it. Yet the day he earned his quirk, she noticed...changes. His behavior became erratic when others tried to help the kid when he got hurt, especially  to Izumi. Yet back then, he still was soft. He helped her when she got hurt, making her blush when he flashed a smile and said when he'd be a hero, he'd do this all the time, and be the best at it. He was always the one whose words sounded truer, more than anything to her...

...yet that was the nail, wasn't it?

The day before, she had confessed to him she wanted to be a hero too, just like Kacchan. Of course he laughed, scoffed it off, said she'll never be as good as him....but he never said she couldn't be. In fact, he encouraged her to be her absolute best when it came to it, albeit indirectly....

....the

...and yet once those tests came in, it...changed him.

Instead of praising her for such a dream, he lashed at her, yelled at her to face the reality of the situation. For the year she had been told she was quirkless, the mere mentions of heroism including her angered him to such an intense degree...some days she'll come home with small burns on her face or arms.

Yet she couldn't stand the thought of ever leaving the kid she grew to like a lot alone.

She now walks the paths of the forests with Kacchan and his lackeys in tow, leaving her a good distance away from them. She can hear the faint mumblings of Kacchan and his pals ahead.
