Weeks passed by, and Nico had truly begun to enjoy his stay at Hogwarts. Nico, Draco, Theo and Blaise had all become rather good friends. Nico hadn't spoken to either Harry nor Ron since their last conversation, and he figured it was mostly because they seemed to hate Draco. In their defense, Draco was pretty nasty to them.

The classes did get more interesting, except history of magic, which was completely and utterly useless, and herbology, which was simply a class that Nico wasn't interested in. The good thing about history of magic however, was that Professor Binns was terribly afraid of Nico's father. Because of that, Nico was able to fall asleep in the class without ever getting in trouble, and his grades were still on point. Draco, Theo and Blaise had initially been careful to wake him up each time Nico fell asleep in class, not wanting him to get in trouble. Though, once they realized that Nico was never getting in trouble for it, they themselves began sleeping in the class too, and although Professor Binns allowed Nico to sleep in class, it didn't mean that Nico's friends could. So Professor Binns took it to giving out detention to all those that fell asleep in his class, all except Nico.

"He favors you." complained Draco, who had watched Nico fall asleep without trouble before doing it himself, only for Draco to be woken up moments later with a detention.

Nico smirked and shrugged.

Today was Halloween, a day that Nico had never really cared for. There was a feast later tonight, but Nico wasn't sure he wanted to attend. Despite the constant supply of food, Nico still didn't eat much, and it somewhat discouraged him from going to the feast.

Hours later, everyone was sitting in the great hall, eating and laughing, Nico was nowhere to be found. Draco, Theo and Blaise all wondered where he was, but they weren't concerned, as it wasn't unlike Nico to not attend a feast.

The feast was friendly and welcoming, up until a loud voice rang out from the door.

"Troll - in the dungeons - though you ought to know." said Professor Quirrel before fainting.

When the bewitched ceiling then the uhundered, many couldn't help themselves and screamed, Draco included. They were immediately evacuated, and brought back to their dorms.

"What about Nico." Asked Blaise suddenly, grabbing onto Draco's arm.

"Nico will be fine. He can take care of himself if the thing find him." Draco replied. Blaise seemed to accept what Draco said, and together, they walked back up to their dorm.

Elsewhere, Nico wandered the halls aimlessly. He had ultimately decided not to go to the feast, though with nothing else to do, he took to exploring the school, which could now do in peace as everyone else was at the feast. He climbed the many staircases, traveling to wherever they would take him, checked empty classrooms, and also, by mistake, found out the Ravenclaw common room password.

Eventually, he was walking down a corridor (he had no idea which one it was) when he heard a scream and a loud crash. After identifying the scream to be Hermione's, he moved quickly towards the sound of the noise.

Once there, Nico was able to see that Hermione was cowering underneath a bathroom sink, and that a large troll was standing in front of her, swinging his club around the place. It had already broken some of the bathroom stalls, bits of wood now littering the ground.
