Draco left four days after Nico had fainted, along with Theo and Blaise as well. So, Nico was left alone in his dorm, and it reminded him slightly of the Hades Cabin.

Nico missed camp. He would never admit it out loud, but he really did. He missed his friends,  Percy, Jason, Reyna, Hazel, Annabeth, Thalia, Frank, Piper, and even his annoying doctor Will. He missed the adrenaline from fighting monsters, and he missed the general energy that camp had. He missed those nights when Nico would play capture the flag, or just eating and being surrounded by all his fellow demigods. He missed it all.

But he was on a quest. And, when he got back, everything would be the same. His friends would barely have even missed him, as for them it would have only been a short amount of time, perhaps a couple weeks. For Nico though, it would be years. But he had nothing to fear. He only had to protect Harry and make sure that Harry killed Voldemort. It was simple, and Nico swore to complete it.

On another note, most of the Slytherin students had gone either home or away for the holidays, and very few students stayed at Hogwarts. There were only about five of them that stayed, so during meal times, they would all sit at other tables if they had friends in the other houses. Nico sat with Harry and Ron regularly, and he did a lot with them over the holiday. Fred and George had warmed up to him more, giving him random candy that they bought when they saw him. They reminded Nico of the Stoll brothers, and he figured that Leo would get along with them.

Nico didn't have much to do during the holidays, so he began accompanying Harry and Ron on their visits to Hagrid. Nico was first wary of Hagrid, as he was half giant and Nico didn't have good experiences with giants, but he turned out to be rather friendly and wholesome.

One night, because he was bored, Nico decided to explore the third floor. It had been banned from students, which, naturally made Nico want to go there. He shadow traveled out of his dorm and to an empty hallway on the second floor. He walked up the stairs to the third floor, where he then checked the unlocked rooms that were there. There ended up being only two unlocked rooms, and Nico found it rather boring and unentertaining, so he took his wand, and with the greek incantation of the spell that opened doors, opened the previously locked ones. The first one was empty, so Nico closed and locked the door. He was about to go to the next door, when he heard an unfamiliar joyful screech.

"Student out of bed! And better yet, on the third floor!" the ghost giggled. Nico hadn't had any previous encounters with Peeves, and all the other ghosts seemingly avoided Nico. It was surprising that Peeves had yet to get the memo.

"Peeves." Nico said it in a commanding tone, and Peeves went stone cold. He stopped moving, and you could assume that he had been petrified.

"Why hello master." said Peeves, noticeably afraid. Nico raised an eyebrow at him, and Peeves seemed to shrink away. "I didn't recognize you master. My apologies."

"Do you want to speak to my father, Peeves?"

"Gods, no thank you master."

"Good. Now that you so kindly called my location, I suggest you remove anyone that might so happen now be looking for me, understand?"

"Remove!?"

"Get them off my trail."

"Oh, yes master. I will do that."

"Good. Be on your way then." Peeves nodded fearfully and quickly flew away from Nico. Nico gave a somewhat proud smile to himself, proud of the fact that he had such power over the dead, and then continued to open the next door.

When he opened it, instead of it being empty like he had initially though it would be, stood a large, three-headed dog. The 'dog' looked shockingly similar to Cerberus, and Nico smiled when he saw him. The 'dog' however, didn't have the same reaction to Nico as Nico had to him. He immediately growled, but when Nico stepped into the room, he stopped and began wagging his tail.
