Two weeks later
It was the second round of playoffs for the college hockey league. They were in the second half of the game. Bucky and Langston were both on the ice blocking shots all night. At some point during the second half. Langston spotted Maggie in the stands she looked beautiful.
He was lost in his thoughts about how he missed her and wished they were still together. He didn't notice the puck or everyone yelling at him. Bucky snapped him back into reality as he slammed him against the plexi.
"Where's ya head? Huh? We can't be daydreaming about shit in the middle of a game." Bucky snapped.
"Get off me." Langston said as he pushed him off.
They both threw punches Deacon and Hunter pulled them apart. "Get your head out of your ass dude and quit staring off into space about your girlfriend." Bucky said
James buried his face as his son went to the penalty box. After the game was over as they were all in the locker room. Deacon walked over to Bucky.
"What the fuck was that?" Deacon said
"Fuck off Brooks.." Bucky said
"No your attitude sucks lately. And you almost costed our bid to the Frozen..I don't know what happened to your head. Maybe Maggie knocked a few screws loose when she smacked the hell out of you but you need to get your shit together. We can't afford another night like tonight." Deacon said
"Shut the fuck up! I said she was never to be talked about." Bucky said as he got in his face.
"Go find a puck bunny and get laid. Make yourself feel better Barnes." Deacon said
"Fuck off!" Bucky snaps as he slams his locker door.
As he walked out he saw his dad waiting and seething.
"Like my night can't get any worse." Bucky whispered to himself
He walked by his dad to go to the parking lot.
"Son slow your roll." James said
"Fuck off dad.." Bucky said
"Watch your mouth when you talk to me." James said
When they finally got to Bucky's car.
"What the hell was that on the ice? Going after your own team mate." James said
"Dad seriously fucking leave me alone!" Bucky said as he slammed his trunk.
"You're stressed? Is it your class load? Cause I can call your advisor and pull some strings to get your class load lightened.." James said
"No I don't need you to pull strings and it's not my classes." He said as he went to get in the car.
"Son tonight's attitude better not be over some puck bunny's pussy. Cause what have I told you we don't need to be distracted over pussy." James said
"We just cheat right? Is that what you taught Ollie too? Cause he's on what wife #3 and baby mama #4.. not to mention you and your Barbie does she know that she's baby mama #4.." Bucky said
James balled up his fist and punched him"You little shit. You better watch how you talk to me. I'm the one paying for your room and board and this fancy ass car. So you better watch your mouth.." James said
Punches began to fly before the police pulled them apart.
"Would either one of you like to press charges?" One of the officers said
"I do..let his Barbie of a wife deal with him." Bucky said
"You ungrateful piece of shit. I'm glad I have one son that didn't turn out like his mother." James said as they escorted him off the premises.
On his way back to the house, he could feel his eye swelling as he wiped blood from his nose. When he pulled into the driveway he saw his room mates minus Deacon and Logan.
"Dude..we saw the fight. We left when the police got there." Steve said
"Guys you should go to the parties. I just want to be alone." He said as he went into the kitchen to get a beer.
"What's going on with lately?" Sam said
Bucky looked down as he sat his beer on the counter. "I'm in love with Maggie Connors.." he said
The room fell silent. "Then you should tell her that instead being a total ass to her." Clint said
"What good is that going to do? She's with Langston.." Bucky said as he found an ice pack for his eye.
"Dude where has your head been? They broke up two weeks ago." Dylan said
He turned around. "What? I've not seen her be sad." He said
"She kept to herself or stayed with me and Hunter. Maci is pissed off at her brother for doing it. He broke up with her because he got a job offer in NY. So she's single." Dylan said
"Oh.." he said
"Bucky if you want to win her heart. You are going to have to prove to her that you are serious. You've been rude to her since we were 5 years old." Steve said
"Yeah so take your time building up that trust with her. But you need to get it off your chest instead of letting it eat away at you like this." Sam said
"Thanks guys." Bucky said as he walked off.
