Until The Morning

Nathan's POV

I leaned over to get closer to Jay, but landed wrong when his body wasn't there. The logical part of me said maybe he was just using the bathroom, but I knew it wasn't that. I got up to find him.

The hallway seemed longer than usual. The light in Tom's room was on. Shouldn't he be asleep? With Max?

The light shut off, and my blood ran cold. I was running now down the hall. I heard moans. No. Nononononono.

The hallway just kept getting longer, but I finally held onto the doorframe and looked inside.

Jay was sitting on the bed. Tom was sitting around him, and they were making out. Tom's lips ran across Jay's collarbone and Jay tossed his head back and moaned again. Tom pushed him back on the bed.

At that point, I wouldn't watch anymore and swung the door open. Tom looked back at me and smiled. He left Jay on the bed and walked back to me. Jay seemed completely unaffected, as if he didn't even know I was there. I was screaming his name as his expression remained blank.

Tom walked closer until he got to me. He laughed while I continued to try to get Jay to notice me. Finally, Tom got tired of waiting and shoved me back. It was as if I was on a ledge and I fell backwards into a free fall. I looked back up as Tom was still smiling evilly down at me and shut the door behind him.

Jay shook me awake into his arms. I was aware of tears on my face and my throat felt dry.

I was in Jay's arms. I was ok.

I laid my head against his chest. That dream, or nightmare, wouldn't leave me. It felt so real.

What if... No. Jay wouldn't do that again.

Or would he? When he looked at Tom, was there just a hint of longing? Maybe.

Tom just didn't look right. Was he even sleeping on Max's shoulder? How did I know he wasn't just avoiding me and Jay. I didn't trust him. I didn't trust Jay.

They were going to cheat again. I knew it. Jay wouldn't be satisfied with me after Tom. Of course not. Tom has abs and he's smart and his voice is so much better than mine. Jay would always choose Tom over me.

If they were cheating again....

I was gonna have my fun first.

Jay's POV

I woke up to Nathan screaming bloody murder. He was rolled so far away from me that I thought he was going to fall off the bed. I lunged over to him and pulled him back towards me. I started shaking him, hoping he would wake up.

"Nath, Nath," I started to whisper, continuing to shake him.

Suddenly, his eyes opened wide and he sat straight up, gasping for air. I didn't know how bad the dream had been and I didn't want him to hyperventilate again, so I sat up with him and pulled him into my arms.

"Ssh, love calm down," I soothed.

I pulled him down so that we were lying down again, his head resting on my chest and my arms around him. He let out an almost relieved sigh and burrowed himself further into my shirt. Not that I minded.

I could still feel his warm tears soaking through my shirt, and I knew that I needed to find a way to get him to stop crying. I kissed the top of his head and started tracing my fingers up and down his arm.

"You wanna talk about it?" I asked.

I felt him shake his head. That was understandable. Nightmares were bad enough the first time, let alone reciting the whole thing to someone else.

"Do you need anything else?" I asked, still overly concerned.

Nathan looked up at me with tired eyes, still damp from his tears.

"I'm fine, Jay. I just want to get back to sleep," he sighed.

"Okay," I agreed.

I leaned down to give him one more gentle kiss and then he laid his head back down on my chest.

"Love you," I whispered.

"I love you, too," he said back, in sort of a monotonous tone. Probably just because he was tired.

We were silent for awhile and I could still hear him sniffling. He also squirmed around quite a bit. I didn't know what that nightmare was about, but I assumed it was truly awful since it was keeping him from sleep. I thought of ways to help him, and when I finally thought of one, I realized how cheesy it was and almost didn't do it. But, it could make him fall asleep.

In a quiet voice, almost a whisper, I started singing "I'll Be Your Strength." It was definitely not my best performance in the world but I hoped it would be enough. I felt Nathan's mouth curl up into a smile.

After only a couple minutes, not even the length of the entire song, I could hear him breathing the way he always did when he was asleep. I smiled and stopped singing, letting myself start to drift off, too. This was how it was supposed to be. Me and Nathan.

"I won't ever hurt you again, Nath," I whispered to him, hoping that he could somehow hear it.

Max's POV

"Mm, Tom," I wrapped my arms tighter around Tom.

"Max, You're so fucking sexy in the morning," His voice traveled as he rolled over to face me. His voice alone turned me on. He moved closer until our noses were almost touching. I finally closed the gap in a smooth kiss.

I loved how we knew each other so well. Our lips moved with each other and I knew every inch of him. He knew all of me. It was so comfortable.I loved being in love with Tom Parker.

I broke the kiss and moved softly across his collarbone barely tracing my lips along all of the points I know he loves.

"Tom... I love you..." I said in between kisses. I felt him smile.

I moved slowly with no urgency this time. Neither of us were in a hurry for it end at all.

"I am so lucky to have you, Max. I love you, too," he breathed in my ear.

He wrapped his arms around me and I felt Tom's palms pressed into my back. I shivered, his touch still raising goosebumps on my skin.

We were still laying in each others arms when Jay knocked on the door.

"I'm going for a pizza run. If you want some, you better be decent by the time I get back," He called.

"Is it worth it, TomTom?" I smiled.

"Yeah, let's eat. I'm hungry."

"Fair enough. I love you, Parker."

"Love you, George."

I kissed him one last, lingering time and pulled away to find something decent to wear. Tom rolled out to take and shower. I threw on some pajamas that I'd found somewhere. As if on cue, Nathan knocked quietly on the door outside.
