Agents continued to run around me, all with some place to be. It was controlled chaos and it made my heart race. Something was either happening or it was about to. I had to get back to the lab. Speeding up into a jog, I weaved through the incoming men and women. I let out a relieved breath when I finally reached the lab. Just as I rushed in, Fury charged in the other door, and boy was he pissed.

"What are you doing, Mr. Stark?"

Dad didn't seem to care about the anger directed at him. "Uh... kind of been wondering the same thing about you."

"You're supposed to be locating the Tesseract."

Bruce stood in the background with his arms crossed over his chest. He was calm as he said, "We are. The model's locked and we're sweeping for the signature now. When we get a hit, we'll have the location within a half-mile."

"And you'll get your cube back, no muss, no fuss," Dad added just as his monitor dinged. I curiously walked towards it and looked at the screen. Dad and I shared a confused look at plans for something called Phase 2.

"What is Phase 2?" Dad asked.

Suddenly, Steve appeared and slammed down a HYDRA assault rifle on the metal table, and we all turned to look at him. He was even angrier than Fury. "Phase 2 is S.H.I.E.L.D. uses the cube to make weapons," he bit before looking at Dad. "Sorry, the computer was moving a little slow for me."

"Rogers, we gathered everything related to the Tesseract," Fury tried to explain, "This does not mean we're-"

"I'm sorry, Nick," Dad interrupted while turning the monitor towards Fury. Weapon schematics and plans were on full display. "What were you lying?"

"I was wrong, Director. The world hasn't changed a bit," Stever remarked, annoyed that he was still fighting the same battles from before the ice.

The situation was escalating quickly, all I could do was watch with wide, worried eyes as it unfolded. Natasha and Thor charged in to join the fray. Her eyes never left Banner, expecting him to turn green at any moment. It worried me as well considering how angry he was.

"Did you know about this?" He asked accusingly.

As usual, Natasha skated around the truth. "You wanna think about removing yourself from this environment, Doctor?"

"I was in Calcutta, I was pretty well removed," Bruce argued.

"Loki's manipulating you."

"And you've been doing what exactly?"

"You didn't come here because I bat my eyelashes at you."

Bruce nodded and moved closer to the monitor. "Yes, and I'm not leaving because suddenly you get a little twitchy. I'd like to know why SHIELD is using the Tesseract to build weapons of mass destruction."

"Because of him," Fury admitted while pointing at Thor.

The abnormally tall blonde's brows furrowed and he pointed to himself. "Me?"

"Last year, Earth had a visitor from another planet who had a grudge match that leveled a small town. We learned that not only are we not alone, but we're hopelessly, hilariously, outgunned."

"My people want nothing but peace with your planet," Thor argued.

"But you're not the only ones out there, are you? And, you're not the only threat. The world's filling up with people who can't be matched, they can't be controlled."

"Like you controlled the cube?" Steve asked incredulously.

"Your work with the Tesseract is what drew Loki to it, and his allies," Thor explained heatedly. "It is a signal to all realms that the Earth is ready for a higher form of war."
