warnings:  lil bit angst and fluff

"Hi, Mrs. Russell," you say as you casually enter their home and close the door behind you.

A bit surprised at your unexpected arrival, she chuckles and greets you back, "Hi dear, you can call me Emma remember."

"I know. Force of habit. Is— is he here?" you stop for a moment and glance over towards his room.

"Yea, he's just out. Long day of work," Lenora walks over and pulls you into a hug. "You okay? I didn't see you at school today," she tucks a hair behind your ear.

You smile at her tiredly, "Yea m' okay. thank you." You kiss her and cheek walk towards Arvin's room.

"We're havin' dinner in a coupla hours, just so y' know," Mrs. Russell reminds you.

You nod and enter his room, closing the door gently. Your eyes soften at the sight of the boy knocked out in his bed, arm lied out, and lips slightly apart. You sniffle and walk over to his closet, changing into a pair of his pajamas.

You slip into his blanket and wrap your arms around him as if he were a teddy bear, pressing your face against his chest. You drape your leg across his legs and make yourself comfortable on the tiny bed with him.

Not too startled by your touch, he stirs awake and blinks repeatedly. He lifts his head up a bit and glances at you, "Doll?"

"Ye?" you whisper, eyes shut tight.

You smile in content when you feel his arm wrap around you and pull you closer. He lifts up the blanket to cover you more, "You alright?"

"Now I am," you mutter.

"Good," he presses a warm kiss against the top of your head.

"Tell me bout' your day please," you ask and glance up at him.

He looks back down at you with a small smile. "Mk. Nothing crazy though. Just some road work I managed to find. Got back home, had some lunch, worked on my car, then came here and took a nap."

"Mm," you nod and close your eyes once again.

"Did ya go to school, flower?"

"No," you sigh. "Had another one of those days."

"S' okay."

"Arv?"

"Yea?"

"Never let me go, please."

"Never."
