Chapter Four: Jungkook's Birthday VLive

Jimin:

They sat around Jungkook in the middle, the VLive was about to start. Jimin was off to the side, Soekjin between him and Jungkook like a chaperone. Jimin was sullen, annoyance had turned to hot anger and frustration. This was his husband! It was his birthday! And Jimin was forbid from touching him, even talking about him... He swallowed back emotion.

Jungkook caught his eye.

"Namjoon-Hyung, can Jiminie bring my cake?" asked Jungkook, "And we can sing when we start the VLive?" Jimin smiled at him, touched that Jungkook was trying to include him.

"Sure, yeah, Jimin-ah, go get the cake."

Jimin trotted off camera to get it while they started the VLive, he lit the candles and they sang to Jungkook while he put the cake in front of him.

"Jungkookah did you make a birthday wish?" Jimin asked, teasing him but feeling serious. "You missed this candle, it won't come true if you don't get them all." Jungkook blew out the last candle, and pressed his hands together to prayer as he closed his eyes. Jimin watched him wish and wished along with him that one day they could be out, they can be honest about their relationship to the world.

"He doesn't need a wish, it already came true!" Suga exclaimed, and then pointed at V and said: "No nonsense from you!" Jimin didn't miss it, Suga low key warning Taehyung to watch what he said about Jungkook's wishes...

"Jungkook, how does it feel to get number one on the Billboard on your birthday? Asked Namjoon.

"It's the best birthday gift ever," Jungkook said seriously. " And it's all thanks to ARMY, they gave me great support. I realized they are doing so many things to celebrate my birthday, so I wanted to say, Thank you ARMY! Thank you for celebrating my birthday, I'm so lucky to be born as who I am." All the members gave a sigh of love for their Maknae, including Jimin, whose heart couldn't help but leap with love for Jungkook.

Jimin inched his bare foot forward and poked the sole of Jungkook's foot with his toes. Jungkook didn't even notice, and Jin nudged Jimin, making him draw his foot back. So much for public affection, Jimin thought with a wry twist of his heart.

"Jungkook lost his voice from crying when he heard the news," RM said, "as the Billboard Number 1 was icing on the cake."

"That's right, I cried a lot," Jungkook chose his words carefully, "When I heard the news, I felt overwhelmed."

Jimin raised his hand, "I told him the news--" why shouldn't he say that, someone had to have told him... "Jungkook was--"

But RM cut him off: "No, I sent a text to the group chat, but no one replied."

"I did!" said Jin defensively.

Jimin tried again: "Jungkook was--"

But RM went on, cutting him off again, answering Jin loudly over Jimin: "But you were the only one, and me." Jin laughed and nodded and Jimin fell back, now getting the message clearly that he should shut up about personal details of Jungkook. He tried not to let the hurt grow on his face so ARMYs could see it...

"I cried with Jimin all night," V said...

The conversation moved on from there but RM gratefully rubbed Taehyung's back and gave him a high five--approval for making it seem like he was with me--Jimin thought with shame and growing anger... Taehyung was the prime person who was in charge of disinformation in terms of being publicly affectionate with both Jimin and Jungkook to help distract people from Jikook; from Jungkook's constant slapping of Jimin's butt and back-hugging him...
