Tsukishima's Pov:

Before Y/n walked into the gym, coach was telling us about some new member, or something. Y/n walks over to the bench as the soles of her shoes click on the wood. Her shoes are covered in dirt and scuff marks making them very dirty and overall, worn out.

Her shoes are from the brand Asics with green stitching and accents that surround a white shoe. However, on her way over here I managed to get a look at the bottom and heel counter.

Her heel counter is also green although, in white stitching it has the word 'Emeralds' in Korean as well as the bottom of the shoes also has this word. 'Emerald Empress' my ass.

Coach Ukai invites Y/n to come practice with us again. Even though I'm not opposed to it, I still kinda wanna know about this new member or whatever. "Yeah, sure" Y/n accepts his offer and sits down with the rest of the team.

Coach doesn't carry on with the announcements and goes straight back into what we're doing today for practice. "Just do the set and spike warm up. Dismissed." he instructs us.

All of us collectively get off the floor and head over to the net to begin practice. Everyone's shoes squeak against the wooden varnished floor as the balls dribble on the floor as they are being poured out of the caddy.

Takeda sensei and Kiyoko stand at both ends of the net as we line up for the set and spike drill. Nishinoya goes to the opposite side of the net as he does a lot of serve receive.

The first up is his royal highness and the shrimp. Kiyoko-san throws the ball for Kageyama to set that he did indeed set for Hinata, allowing him to spike it with his eyes closed. The ball heads straight for Nishinoya-san which he receives.

Even though I'm pretty sure that y/n saw it yesterday, she seems very in shock on how and why Hinata closed his eyes when spiking the ball.

The time passes to where it's Y/n's turn to set. Although she's an opposite hitter she does pretty good in setting the ball. Actually, during yesterday's game I don't think I even saw her spike. Wow, so the outside hitter isn't even doing her job. Tsk, tsk, and they call her one of the best.

No really, when we were playing yesterday she set, received, blocked, and passed. Not ONCE did this bitch spike the damn ball. Y/n goes up to spike the ball that Sugawara-senpai is setting for her.

When Y/n goes over to jump so she can spike the ball, she swings both of her arms back, so she can aim for the ball. From what I was thinking that she was going to spike the ball with her right hand.

What I didn't expect was her to lead with her right and strike with her left hand. Surprisingly, Nishinoya receives the ball and it rolls to the side of the court. It's almost like Nishinoya expected it.

Once again, this girl leaves the entire gym speechless. Man, she's just full of surprises, isn't she? The whole team is completely silent, including me because I'm trying to comprehend what the fuckity fuck just happened. Can I just say, I'm not impressed, I'm just surprised.

"That was amazing, Y/n-san!" Hinata shoes as the rest of them cheer for her. Gee, now I see why they call her the empress. What I don't understand is the reason that she didn't tell us sooner.

From what I noticed, she doesn't mention what is so impressive about her until she has a chance to show it all off. Now that I think about it, when she was copying my notes, she was laying down and using her left hand.

"I didn't know you were left handed" I smirk as she gets back in line.

"Of course I am, didn't you notice me laying down when I write my notes? That's the only way I can see them"
