Jay's pov

"Jay." Someone says. I ignore the voice and snuggle deeper into the couch.

"Jay, wake up you idiot." The voice says again. I mumble incoherent words. Then I feel someone try to shake me awake but I sit up and grab their hand in a flash before they could.

I got good reflexes.

I come face to face with an annoyed Raven.

Meet Raven, the manager of the gym. She is also the twin sister of my ex boyfriend, Riven. As I said before, me and Riven were together for a few months even though we've known each for way longer. We broke up on mutual terms. We both didn't like our romantic relationship and just preferred being friends.

The twin's uncle owns the gym. So it's a family run business. Another reason why I'm welcomed here anytime.

"Hey Raven. Sorry I slept here last night." I say sheepishly while stretching my sore neck. She shrugs. "Eh, it's cool. I don't really care about that, you're welcome anytime. But um I thought I should tell you, that you're late for school." My eyes widened. "What?" I spring off the couch, racing towards my backpack. I shuffle through stuff and pick out an outfit.

"You should shower. You smell like a pig." I flip Raven off as she dramatically waves the air. "What time is it?" I ask, walking towards the showers. Raven follows me to where the mats are.

"8:10" Second period starts in fifteen minutes. I'll probably be five or ten minutes late to my next class. I have Spanish for my first class, so it doesn't really matter. I already know Spanish anyway. I'm Hispanic, I just took the class because I thought it would be an easy A. My next class is English. I have Ms. Lopez for that class and she hates me. So I guess I'll be spending the rest of the week in detention.

After I was showered and fully clothed, I grabbed my backpack and met with Raven at the front desk. "Are you working today?" I shrug. "I have a day off. Do you guys need me here?" She shakes her head.

"No no, go ahead and enjoy your day off." Riven walks out from the locker room, taking notice of me. "Let me guess, you're late?" I shrug. "It's fine, it's just the first class." He shakes his head.

"Why didn't you set an alarm to wake you up?" He asks. "I was too tired to do that."

"Alright, well I'll drive you. You'll open for me, right Raven?" She waves him off. We look at each other and smile. Classic Raven. Riven grabs his keys and we rush off towards the doors.

"I'll be back in twenty." He calls out.

"Bye Raven." I say, walking out. Riven unlocks his truck and I get into the passenger seat at the same time as he sits on the driver side. "You can choose the music." He says, putting in the aux cord. I grin, thanking him and putting on Chase Atlantic.

"You know if you didn't have good taste in music, I wouldn't like you." Riven says. I know he's joking, he would still love me even if I had no taste. But he's right, people love my music recommendations.

For the next ten minutes we sing along to the lyrics we know and then mess up on the ones we think we know but don't. Me and Riven are totally out of tune, which makes the whole car ride enjoyable. He pulls up to the school parking lot where there are a few kids who are skipping class.

The usual group of teens.

"Bye Riven. Thanks for giving me a ride again." I say, getting out of the car with my stuff.

"No problem Jay. Text me if you need me to pick you up. Actually don't, I have plans with Kyle. But I can pick you up at like five." I roll my eyes. "Oh ya, cause I totally end school at that time and not three." He shrugs.
