He was frozen there. I wasn't sure what was wrong, but the look on Papyrus's face.. Something was wrong. I strutted over ready to chase off whoever was making him look that way, that devastated. A soft voice came to my ears as I made it to the door. "-this was found outside the castle. i assure you that the king is doing everything in his power to find the murderer." It was a monster in armor. I couldn't see what kind of monster he was, nor could I remember who he was. I knew everyone in my guard. The most noticeable feature was a dusty, blue jacket that he was holding. My soul dropped. Sans's jacket.. Oh stars no... "Oh Papyrus.." I brought the younger skeleton into a hug. "What happened." I forced the aggressive tone back, but I was beyond pissed. I was pissed that something like this could happen. I Sans couldn't be dead, HE COULDN'T BE.. But he was. The monster spoke again, his voice was dead.. Monotone.. "i was going on my rounds around the castle when i found this. we believe that he was stopping a burglary, when something went wrong. the monster in question killed him, then fled the scene." He finished. "I see.." I grit my teeth. Sans.. "take this and i'll take my leave." Pap quickly took the jacket, hugging it close. "THANK YOU.." The monster said nothing, instead leaving without another word.

I called Alphys after I got Pap to sleep. He was devastated, Sans had raised him as a baby and now his only family was dead, supposedly killed by a petty thief. But something was bothering me, hence the call. "H-hello? Undyne? D-did you f-find Sans?"

"He's dead Al.. Sans is dead." There was silence for a while. "Alphys?"

"I- I'm sorry.. It's just.. I just.." She sniffled. She was crying. "H-how?"

"Killed by a thief apparently. Is jacket was found outside the castle."

"You sound sus-suspicious of someone?"

"A new monster. He's apparently part of the Royal guard or something. Thing is I've NEVER met this guy before, and suddenly he shows up with Sans jacket?You shoulda seen him! He had NO emotions to show WHAT SO EVER! I think he has SOMETHING to do with Sans's murder. No I'M SURE OF IT!"

"..."

"Sorry.. This.. This is all to much. You know how I feel about them. They're like family.."

"I- I know.. I- I'm s-orry about Sans.. I ne-ver thought a-bout how th-is affected y-you.."

"It's.. It's ok Al. I'm going to talk to the king tomorrow about a dusting ceremony for Sans. I'm also going to try and find out more about that monster."

"A-alright.. G-good luck, Undyne."

"Bye Al, love you.."

"L-l-ove you t-too." With a click I hung up. I heaved a deep sigh and buried my face in my hands. I groaned. "Why Sans? Why couldn't it have been me?!"

Asgore

"You did well. Did they ask any questions?" I asked.

"What happened." A monotonous voice answered.

"That's good. From now on you'll answer to Judge, alright? Sans is dead now, after all." The armored monster took his helmet off, revealing the supposedly dead Sans. "alright."

"Im glad that is all settled. A couple more things. First, stick to unknown attacks if you must use magic. I'd rather you use your sword provided though. Blasters and blue magic only."

"yes, your majesty."

"Second, leave your helmet on at all times, unless it's just us. You'll be doing daily patrols inside and outside The Underground and nobody can know that it is all a hoax. Especially Papyrus, Undyne, Alphys, Toriel, and Frisk."

"yes, your majesty."

"Finally, no Grillby's. Keep to the dialogue I've provided as far as Sans death, your appearance, and why your active now. No monster can know that the barrier is broken."

"yes, your majesty."

"Good. Go to your quarters now. I'll get you when I need you again."

"yes, your majesty." With that, Sans-no Judge- put on his helmet, bowed to me, and took his leave, leaving me to my thoughts. This was right. What I was doing was for the right reasons. To keep my kingdom safe.. I assured myself.
