Dumbledore's Downfall (it'll take place, just later on): Year 2

Chapter 1

Harry smiled as he stood still for Madam Malkin. Draco and Harry were out Tom and Severus, getting school supplies for the year. Harry and Draco both need some new robes because the boys had grown over the summer. Typically, Lucius would put some growing charms on the boys' clothing, but since it was their school robes, he wanted them to look a bit nicer and newer.

"Hey mom?" Harry asked, but made sure to stay still

Severus looked over at his son and smiled "Yes?"

"When we are done shopping, can Draco and I go into the quidditch store?"

"We'll see if we have time. We are meeting papa for lunch in a little bit, so maybe afterwards." Severus said and turned to Madam Malkin "Also, if we could have some dress robes in these measurements, the usual colors we get for the boys, that would be great."

"Of course Severus. I'm all done with Harry. Draco get up here please."

Draco looked up from the potions book he was reading and got up on a platform they would get measured on. He stood still for Madam Malkin and soon he was finished getting measured.

"Okay boys, we need to go to the apothecary first, I need potion ingredients, and we can get your things from there as well. It may take you a bit longer, so dad will take you to Flourish and Blotts. He has your book list." Severus said as he walk out of the shop, the boys and Tom following him

Soon they walked into the apothecary, Draco and Harry going over to the section that they had for students. Tom made sure they got the correct ingredients before going back to the front and paying. He let Severus know they were leaving before taking the boys to the bookstore, giving them the list of books they needed.

"There is a section for students just over there. I'm going to be looking just over there at some books if you need me." Tom said gently to his boys. He made sure they went to the right section, before going over to another row of books. He could still see his boys. Tom browsed, occasionally looking back to make sure his boys were okay. He smiled, seeing the boys had spotted Blaise and Theo. He decided to keep looking around so the boys could talk, before walking over to them.

"Blaise, Theo, it's nice to see you two. How was your summer? I know you too came over on occasion, but other than that I don't know much." Tom asked with a smile

"It was good sir. My mother and I spent some time in Italy. Other than that we stayed at the manor." Blaise said with a smile.

Theo shifted a bit and looked up at Tom. "It's been good! Thank you for asking."

Tom nodded and turned to his boys. "Let's get your books purchased and go to the restaurant we are meeting your mother and papa at." He said with a smile.

Tom directed his boys to the front of the store. He got their books purchased, shrinking them down so they would fit in his robe pocket before leaving the store. He got Harry and Draco to the little spot they were meeting at, and Severus and Lucius already were at a table and waiting. When Harry saw his papa he eagerly gave the man a hug, and Draco did the same when Harry pulled away. The boys got settled into their seats and smiled.

"So, did school shopping go well?" Lucius asked, taking a sip of his water.

Draco and Harry both nodded, talking about how they ran into Blaise and Theo when they were getting their books. All three men listened to their sons talking. Soon they ordered some lunch, and Lucius talked some things over with Tom and Severus while the boys chatted to each other. Their lunches arrived and the little family started to eat, everyone enjoying their meals. All too soon they had to say goodbye to Lucius, who promised he would be home before dinner. Severus, Tom, Draco and Harry walked out of the restaurant.

Draco turned to look at Severus. "Mom? Can we please go to the quality quidditch supply store? I want to look at a broom servicing kit. Also, Harry wanted to just go look around at the new brooms."

Severus chuckled and nodded. "I suppose we could. We pretty much finished up the shopping, besides getting some more parchment and such, but that can wait until a bit closer to when you two start back at Hogwarts."

"Yes! Thank you mom!" Harry and Draco both managed to say at the same time. The two boys raced off to the quidditch store, Severus and Tom trailing behind.

Draco ended up getting a new broom servicing kit, and so did Harry. Soon, the little family, besides Lucius, had made their way back to the manor. The boys went to put their new things away, while Tom went off to his study, and Severus went to go brew.

Dinner time rolled around, and Lucius had gone up to go get his sons from their shared room. He opened the door and smiled, seeing the two caught up in a game of exploding snap. "Sorry to interrupt boys, but dinner is ready." Lucius smiled when the two boys jumped up to greet him with a hug.

The family got seated at the dinner table, and it was a casual and nice affair like usual. Small talk happened between everyone and after dinner it was shower and a bit of an early bedtime for the boys. Severus wanted them to get used to a sleep schedule like they would have at school. Severus knew his boys were a bit too old to be tucked in still, but he cherished the time he got to spend with them, so he tucked the boys in anyway. He gave them both a quick goodnight kiss and noxed the lights before leaving the room. He was a bit anxious to get back into the school, hoping Dumbledore wouldn't be too much trouble for them this year.
