Dumbledore's Downfall (it'll take place, just later on): Year 2

Chapter 8

Tom was currently cursing the day Dumbledore was born. Tom had been doing some snooping and just as Severus suspected, the snake in the chamber had not been taken care of. Now, his poor son was suffering and hearing the snake. Poor Draco was thinking he was going crazy, and Tom was really thinking about pulling the boy from school because it was affecting Draco greatly. He had informed Lucius what was going on, in hopes that he could do something, but since it wasn't affecting any other students at Hogwarts, he had no real reason to send aurors in to investigate. He sighed softly, deciding to floo Severus, knowing he would be in his office today for lunch so Draco could at least get a bit of sleep.

Sev looked up from the papers he had been grading when he heard the charm for the floo go off. He answered it, knowing it was probably one of his husbands.

"So, what's the verdict Tom?" He asked after he confirmed it was indeed Tom.

Tom sighed softly. "Fumbles didn't take care of the issue in the chamber. Don't bring it up to the man though. Lucius is adding it to the long list of charges he plans to drop on the man, hopefully soon. I think the best thing right now is to take Draco out. I can homeschool him, and you and Remus might be able to take care of our little issue. I've looked up some different possible ways to kill the basilisk, but I can tell you about those later. I'll send Lucius to talk to Dumbledore. He can come to get him, and you can "chaperone" him on the trip home so we can talk for a little bit without having to worry about eavesdropping."

Severus nodded. "Alright, then I'm going to be keeping Draco in my office today while I teach, so he can rest with me close by. I'll see you later tonight."

"Alright. Love you." Tom said before ending the floo call.

Sev smiled and hummed a bit, going on with the rest of his day, getting the go ahead to take Draco home at the end of the day. Draco at that point was awake and working on some homework in Severus's office. He looked up when Severus walked in.

"Time to go home?" He asked with a small yawn

Severus nodded. "Yep. Harry is gonna stay here, but will come visit this weekend. I'll be coming with him to make sure you are getting settled okay. Dad is going to be schooling you for now until we get some things sorted."

Draco nodded and stood up, Severus already having sent his things over to the house earlier in the day. "Are we going through the floo?"

Severus nodded "Yep. Do you want to go first?"

Draco nodded, going through the floo first to the manor. Severus followed after them, and soon both of them were standing in the living room of the house.

Lucius and Tom were both home already, having heard the floo go off. Both men made their way downstairs and smiled

"Draco!" Lucius cooed, going and hugging him tightly, running his fingers through the boy's hair. "How are you feeling sweetie?" He asked gently

Draco eagerly hugged his papa back. "I'm okay. I feel better cause mom let me nap in his office today."

Lucius smiled and nodded, pulling away, for Tom to give Draco a hug as well.

"I have a snack out for you in the kitchen Draco. Why don't you go eat while I discuss some things with papa and mom." Tom suggested

Draco nodded, pulling away from Tom and going into the kitchen, while his parents went to the study.

Once Lucius, Tom, and Severus got into the study Tom shut and warded the door. "So, I have an idea for our little issue, and then I think Lucius can lay out the charges against Dumbledore."

Severus nodded. "Well, let's hear it then. I'm anxious to get that old man out of there, and Draco back into school with his friends."

Tom nodded. "Since Remus is at the school with you, Severus, do some research and see if you two can kill the basilisk. Get evidence that it is actually down there and that you killed it. Once you accomplish that and have the evidence, give it to Lucius and then he can get his plan into motion. How does that sound?"
Lucius nodded, thinking that it sounded wonderful. Severus was nodding as well.

"I'll need to talk to Remus and do some research, but it should work." He then turned to Lucius. "And what's your plan?"

Lucius smirked a bit. "Money and being the Minister for Magic can get you some places my dear husbands. I have a list of charges with solid evidence that should get Dumbledore out of Hogwarts and in a trial for these charges. I hope we can get Azkaban for him. Adding on the charge endangerment of multiple children can definitely get us somewhere if the other ones won't hold up, but they should. Depending on how long it takes Severus and Remus, I'm hoping within the next 2 months or so, he will be out of that school. After that we would just need to worry about the trial, and deciding who we should put in to replace Dumbledore."

Severus nodded along. "How about Tom?"

Tom looked at Severus confused. "I'm sorry? You want me to run a school. You want "the dark lord" to run a school." Tom said, sounding a bit doubtful.

Severus smirked a small bit. "What? I mean you weren't really the dark lord. Besides, I think you would make some nice changes."

"I'll think about it." Tom said and sat down in his chair.

"Okay, well I should be getting back to school. Don't want anyone getting suspicious." Severus said. He kissed his husbands goodbye. Severus gave Draco a hug and a kiss goodbye, before heading back to the school. He went to Remus's office, knocking on the door, knowing he needed to tell the man what was going on.

Remus was grading and looked up when he heard the knock. "Come in!" He called out.

Severus walked into the office, shutting and warding the door so prying ears wouldn't hear them.

Remus smiled. "Ahh, Severus, what can I do for you?"

"Well, Tom wants us to work together on a plan. I've told you about Draco and his hearing things. He's been hearing a snake. Well. more than just a snake. He's been hearing the basilisk. It hasn't been dealt with and is still in the chamber. I pulled Draco out, and Tom wants us to deal with this problem. Lucius can also add some things to a list of charges if we get evidence of this. So, what do you say?"

Remus sat there, not really sure what to think. "So...Tom wants us to kill a snake. A very very big snake."

"Yes, but there are valid reasons for this. Please Remus." Severus pleaded. He couldn't do this alone.

Remus sighed a bit as he sat there, thinking. "Okay...I'm in."
