I honestly don't really have a problem with Twilight.
Except for about four things...
1). I don't care if it goes along with the plot the truth is, that no matter how bedazzling it would be, VAMPIRES. DO NOT. SPARKLE!!!
Vampires are, should we say allergic? Yeah let's go with that. Vampires are ALLERGIC to the sun. They don't embrace it with sparkles. If they're out in the sun for too long, they either disintegrate or they get one hell of a sunburn. There was no sparkling involved in the making of the sun vs. vampires.
That should be like, a show where there's vampires against the sun. I can see it now, : "Vampires vs. Sun".
Actually, that would probably be a reeeaaally bad idea... Hey! I'm not that cruel!
Reason número 2). Bella doesn't have any backbone until the fourth book.
Now, when I read a story, I want to read about someone who has SOME fighting spirit.
Now, I know that she gets some fight in her in the fourth book but it's like...kahfbskurbskfk!Instead of helping Edward save the world, she just sits there and let's Jacob and Edward do all the work.
Another example: when Bella decided to jump off a cliff. What the hell?! You don't just DO THAT!! Jacob also had to save her from a terrible death.
I don't care if she can't fight, I don't care if she's completely useless as help. When your writing a story with a girl as the main character, give her some fighting spirit! It's not really fun when your girl character is always being pushed and walked over.
Also, instead of Jacob or Edward constantly saving HER, maybe she can save them a couple of times. That would also help the plot develop. For example: maybe she has a sister or something like that, and her sister is part supernatural.Numbeeeerrrr 3!!). The way Jacob and Edward (technically) abuse her.
Like, come on! What the heck people? If you say that you love her, why would you threaten/ treat her like that? Geez...
I mean, if Bella choose Edward, Jacob threatened to kill himself. That is NOT a thing that you put on someone!
Number 4: The fact that if you take away the love triangle, it's basically a normal girl living a normal life. There's technically no solid plot!
In books like the Hunger Games or Percy Jackson and the Olympians, if you take away the romance that goes on in them, you still get an interesting story. Whereas in Twilight, if you take away all the romance, and the fact that they're vampires, you just get a girl moving to a new town.
I'm not saying that romance is bad, but maybe have a bit more to the plot where she does more exciting things, like I mentioned in reason 2, have HER save Edward and/or Jacob. That would give readers a plot twist instead of them saving her constantly.
Other than those reasons, I'm pretty good with this series. It's not in my favorites because of these reasons, but it's not the worst.
Bonus Random Stuff:
I think Bella's father is oblivious. Jacob FORCES Bella to kiss him and the father is just like, "A'ight. That's cool. I like you so I'll let it slide." Yeah, no. NO father would let someone forcibly kiss their daughter. Heck, NO parent would approve of that!Jacob making out with Bella at her wedding reception. I haven't gotten this far in the series yet, but my friend talked about this and how it was bothering her. I don't care who you are, I don't care what you are, if you're making out with someone who just got married, at their very own WEDDING RECEPTION, I will literally hop into that book and b-slap the both of them. Cheating is NOT okay in my book! (No pun intended...)
If there's any facts that I missed, feel free to tell me~
