On July 5th, The couple's agencies released statements announcing the relationship which was followed by the couple releasing their own hand written letters to the public via their Instagram accounts confirming their relationship which was soon followed by photos released by news agency Star In as they provided evidence of the couple's public outings, which revealed Seohyun's affectionate nature.

Key East/SM Ent and Namoo Actors officially confirmed the relationship to the public in the morning before the couple released their handwritten letters. Lee Soo Man, himself, also congratulated the couple on the news as he personally released the official statement.
As the news broke, the new couple was one of the most search topics online, while fans managed to put Jung JinSoo on Twitter's trending topics, as they topic about his relationship his sister Jessica Jung's former Girls' Generation group mate.
