Atsumu stared at Sakusa, who was just lying still. He was breathing but he didn't really seem okay today.

"Omi?"

"Hm?"

"What's wrong? "

Sakusa closed his eyes. He couldn't really talk much either. Damn it...

Atsumu set his hand on Sakusa's chest. "Alright..."

He got up and turned, starting to play the piece that both of them loved so much. Sakusa's fingers tapped his sides as the song went on, enjoying it.

It sounded heavenly.

Atsumu eventually stopped playing, a few hours going by before he laid in bed and pulled Sakusa close Sakusa put his hand on Atsumu's arm and was still relaxed, his body not hurting in this position. Atsumu kissed his hair and turned on his phone, arm against Sakusa's chest.

In and out, in and out.

Sakusa's breathing was a bit softer today but he swore this morning that he felt fine. Everything with him was just "fine". Whether it be chest pain or if something was too salty, it was fine.

It's not like he could complain about salt or taste when he wasn't eating anything at all now. He still thought that was fine.

Atsumu felt Sakusa shift and the other male's hand held onto Atsumu's. "Thanks, Omi."

In and out. In and out.

Atsumu rubbed Sakusa's fingers, which were cool by now. His body was still working with his lungs though. The heat went to his chest.

The blond kissed Sakusa's hair again and smiled.

"I love you Omi."

Out.

Atsumu paused. "No." He sat up hurriedly. "No, no, no, no. Kiyoomi. No."

Instead of the other male protesting, his body lay still on the blankets.

Atsumu's eyes filled with tears. The room was quiet. "Kiyoomi! Please!" He bent in on himself and sobbed, holding Sakusa's hand. It was so cold. "No!"

Atsumu's hands, now shaking, grabbed for Sakusa's wrist. He tried desperately to find the pulse that made him feel warm, trying to find any warmth in his skin.

It hurt. It physically hurt him.

Atsumu's crying got louder and he couldn't breathe. He couldn't think.

He had wanted more.

There were so many things he wanted more of with Sakusa. No. Kiyoomi.

Kiyoomi.

He wanted Kiyoomi to open his eyes and kiss away the tears and play Novule Bianche with him until their fingers hurt. He wanted to eat blueberries with him until their teeth were stained and their kisses tasted odd.

He wanted those walks in the park while the Sakuras bloomed. He wanted to stare into those pretty, dark eyes until they were both laughing at how stupid the staring seemed.

He wanted to hear his music.

He wanted to go back to that day where he heard that breathtaking music through the thin walls of his apartment.

****

The next day, Atsumu went to work. He didn't actually work. He just put his head on his desk and held a little mask in his hands.

It looked like he was praying. But, Atsumu didn't believe in God. Or at least a good one.

What good God would take the person he loved most from him?

Later that afternoon he was called into the main office where he was given his paperwork and told to leave.

He went to his second job and took orders in the back, not even feeling his usual fake smile coming on.

Hinata picked up on it almost immediately. He went into the back and cried his own heart out until he was given a hug by Atsumu.

He'd met Kiyoomi once. The raven-haired male had come into the place to ask for Atsumu's help with his tank, hands too weak to move the parts.

He was so nice and now he could never see him again.

"Atsumu, that isn't fair."

"I know buddy, I know."

For the rest of the night, they were both quiet.

When Atsumu got home he dropped his things in his apartment and went into Sakusa's. He went to his room and gathered his blankets. He made a nest of them and curled up in it, just wanting to feel his blankets and savor them.

Savor the feeling of it all before he had to do his next point.

His phone buzzed and he answered the call. "Hello?"

"Are you Atsumu Miya?"

"Yes. Why?"

"Are you free at ten in the morning tomorrow? This is very urgent and concerning Sakusa Kiyoomi."

"What about him?"

"His will and funeral plans. He left you and others different belongings."

Atsumu sat up. "Of course. Where's the building and what room?"

He was given details before hanging up. Sakusa had left him something?

Atsumu looked to the white piano. He got up and sat down in front of it, taking a deep breath. This was Sakusa's. This was his prized possession.

Atsumu pressed the keys up a scale.

"Perfect..."

He took another moment before starting the song that they had shared through their joined wall. It wasn't heavy when he played it. It felt amazing.

Atsumu went faster, smiling and remembering how he had taught Sakusa how to play this piece. The other male had leaned into him and hesitated and tried his best until they were in sync.

"I love you Omi..."
