Alex smiled softly, hugging John close as he slept.

"I love you so much." Alex whispered, knowing John wouldn't hear him. They hadn't said it yet, only having been dating for a few weeks but they definitely shared those feelings.

"Mm.." John mumbled, stirring a bit in his sleep before yawning and sitting up. "Good morning, sunshine cuddle bear." Alex smiled.

"I thought the nicknames ended when we started dating." John mumbled, leaning on the headboard.

"Nah, babe, I gotta keep going." Alex laughed, sitting next to his boyfriend and laying his head on his shoulder. "You talk in your sleep." He said, kissing his neck lovingly.

"Yeah? What did I say?" John asked, laying his head on top of Alexander's.

"I don't know. You were speaking Swedish." Alex laughed. "Yeah, I lived in Sweden until I was like five so I'm native in both Swedish and English." John laughed tiredly.

"Wait- you weren't born here?" Alex asked, looking up at him. "No?" John laughed softly. "I lived in Europe until my dad wanted to move back here and run for senate. It's funny though. He's so against the way Sweden runs their government."

"How do?" Alex asked.

"He's very republican. Like he isn't for health care, he doesn't believe in unemployment, he wants super strict boarders, backs the blue- which I'll never understand. He's literally black and married a Puerto Rican immigrant." John sighed.

"That's so weird." Alex mumbled. John nodded. "Yeah. Home was weird. I remember when gay marriage became legal. My dad talked shit about the community for months. He sat all of us down and said if any of us thought we were gay, he wouldn't hesitate to beat us black and blue." He laughed.

"That's not right." Alex said, gently holding John's hand. "You didn't deserve to be treated that way."

John shrugged. "Everything happens for a reason. I don't know, I wouldn't have my little girl and we probably wouldn't be together." He said softly, playing with Alexander's fingers.

"I miss my mom." Alex said softly. "It's nearing Hanukkah and I always miss her around this time." He said. John nodded, listening to Alex.

"She was the best mother ever. She'd always cook the best food- I know I'm picky but I'd eat anything my mom cooked- then again she'd hit me over the head with a chancla." Alex laughed.

John kissed the top of Alexander's head. Alex sighed softly. "You're right though. Everything happens for a reason. If it weren't for her getting sick, we wouldn't have met." He said softly. John nodded softly. "We wouldn't have met. I'd still be in private school and living a lie."

Alexander nodded. "And I'd be living on an island, dirt poor." Alex moved his head a bit, nuzzling in John's neck.

John smiled softly, holding Alex close. "You make me happy." He whispered. "Ditto." Alex whispered.

John connected their lips sweetly, rubbing Alexander's cheek. Alex kissed back for the sweet kiss, pulling away after a few moments and resting his head on John's.

"Can I stay the night?" Alex asked. John laughed softly and nodded. "I hope so. I want you too." He hummed. "Then of course I will." Alex hummed.

"We could do more of what we did earlier." Alex hummed, moving into John's lap. "Yeah, we could." John laughed, pushing some of Alexander's hair behind his ear. "Or we could binge a bunch of chick flicks." He said

"God- how are you the top." Alex said, rolling his eyes playfully. "You're so gay!" He laughed. "Aye! I just have taste!" John exclaimed. "Eh, I'm nit sure I would refer to that as taste." Alex said playfully.

John gasped dramatically and pinned Alex to the bed playfully. "Admit it!" He said. "Admit what?" Alex exclaimed. "Admit chick flicks are the best!"

"I would, Laurens, I really would but I can not lie."

John looked so offended by alexanders statement. He was about to go on a big rant before he heard Frances cry.

"You got saved this time, hamilbitch." John said jokingly, Alex laughing as he left the room to get his toddler.

Alex smiled as he watched John leave. "Yep... I'm so in love with that man."
