I paced the small office after Lucy strode out to the front room for a drink; the weight of her spurts of information hung heavy in the air and threatened to come crashing down on me.

"Any word from Stokes about gettin' eyes?" I stopped briefly to regard TinTin, who sat in a small uncomfortable chair as he stared intently at his phone.

He shook his head but didn't deviate his attention away from the device. "Randall's got the day off. Says he can't get a line on things firsthand till tomorrow, but he'll call in a favor if the price is right." He looked up and shrugged. "Normally I'd say it's not wise to involve another uniform we haven't vetted, but in this circumstance I think we should take it and run."

"And nothin' back yet from Anthony about gettin' ahold of Vivienne to reach out to Dirty Bastard?"

"Bastard's in solitary last I heard, so that might be a little harder to get word to him or his crew. Guess he shanked a guard who cut his conjugal with Vivienne short... So looks like right now our options are Stokes...and well Stokes."

A deep sigh escaped-this was the last thing I wanted to do. Involving people not known to me was a death sentence and a chance I wasn't normally willing to take... But this was Levi. "How much?" I reluctantly asked, and even that moment of compliance made my insides churn with apprehension.

"Five bricks."

"Fuck me... For just includin' someone else; is Stokes off his fuckin' rocker?"

"Think he's taking the majority for being inconvenienced. Word around is that he took some big slack for the favor for Sinner. Got placed on proby for a few weeks too."

"Fuck him. With the amount Sinner paid him, a few weeks off work and he coulda gone on vacation. Fruity drink on a beach n' shit and gettin' his dick sucked all day long."

"I mean... That's what I'd do minus the fruity ass drinks," TinTin smirked, "but it's your call, Brother... We just need to make the decision soon otherwise Stokes might think he can negotiate for higher or bow out completely."

"Let him have it," I grumbled. "And get one of the heads in the sand motherfuckers out in the main room to get me a drink."

"You really sure you wanna eat or drink anything here? I think I need a tetanus shot just sitting in this chair," TinTin joked in an attempt to lighten the mood.

I deeply sighed. "Right now it seems I'm willin' to risk lots of shit, what's my health?" I ran my hands through my unruly hair, hoping to steady the shakes that had developed. If anything happens to Levi and I could've stopped it. The thought lingered, festering to uncomfortable levels.

"Are we really bringing Lucky back with us? Are we even prepared for that impending chaos?" TinTin asked as a large bang resonated from the main room. His head snapped over and he bolted from the chair in an instant.

We rushed out to the noisy front room where mounds of unkempt outlaws flocked around a huge commotion in the center of the room. A cracked in half table lay in a pile with several broken bottles and at one point, an old to-go Chinese food container took a line drive across the top of the crowd. Sinner stood in the corner of the room by the front door with a couple of his guys; his arms were crossed at his chest as he watched the scene unfold with amusement.

"What the fuck?" I shouted, causing Sinner to let out a deep chuckle.

He shrugged and nodded to where a man with long dark hair was being pummeled by none other than Lucky Lucy herself. "Hauled his ass in and he spit at Lucy, calling her a conniving slut. Wasn't sure his vocabulary was that advanced but hey..." Sinner grinned. "Figured we were due to watch a good pussy fight when she laid into him."
