"She was a long cool woman in a black dress. Just a 5'9" beautiful 'n' tall. Just one look I was a bad mess"- The Hollies, Long Cool Woman In A Black Dress

Jacko

Sarin stood in the corner of the main room, nursing a can of soda when the doors to church opened. Her spine straightened as I walked towards her and she carefully eyed a few curious outlaws who had their gazes firmly locked on her.

"Do we have a line on gossip?"

"Well..." Her voice trailed off as she twisted the can in her hand nervously.

"Well what, Beautiful?" I arched an eyebrow as I watched her nerves kick in. "Spit it out or we can take a walk if you'd rather we talk in private. That's-" A shrill laugh interrupted my thoughts and my mind instantly clouded.

A second laugh dripping in sarcasm, caused me to turn slowly. Tight black braids spilled down her back and brushed the top of her waist, and when she turned on her barstool, I caught the first glimpse of the splattering of dark freckles across the bridge of her nose that trailed across her apple cheeks. Her golden taupe skin almost glistened under the faint lights above the bar, and her deceptively beautiful face caused a snarl to form before my low growl rang forth.

"Did you miss me, Jackson? Cause I've been absolutely dying to see you again..." Her signature sly grin followed.

I grated out with clenched teeth, "Lucy Lester..."

"Actually," her head tilted to the side as she smirked, "it's technically Lucy Fellmore now." She wiggled her left hand and nestled among the row of silver rings was a small diamond.

"You're Axel's old lady." Fuck. My. Life. If there's anything else the universe wants to dump on me, now would be a good time to have some fuckin' pity. I inwardly groaned as I silently begged to be given a break.

"Yes... Well I was before he up and disappeared." She laughed and miles of secrets were hidden underneath that laugh. She flashed a saccharine smile and batted her thick dark lashes. The fluorescent lights glistened off her thin gold septum ring as she gave me a slow once over look.

"How convenient." I looked over at Sarin as she chewed her bottom lip and oddly noted how her eyes never strayed from Lucy. Does she even know Lucy? Or how much damage has this bitch done in the short amount of time I was in church? The questions plagued me as I stood a touch dumbfounded at the chances that the universe would dump "Lucky" Lucy Lester into my lap again.

"So..." Lucy tilted her head to the side and her plush painted lips pursed. "Are you planning on interrogating me about Axel or should we take a walk down memory lane a bit?"

"Far as I'm concerned there is no memory lane between us." I caught Sarin's worried glance in my direction. "But I do gots some questions about your old man."

She shrugged. "Not sure I can be much help really? He rarely shared club matters with me." Lie number one. If there was anyone who knew the inner workings of an outlaw club it was Lucy. Born and raised in a Nomad crew, by a President no less, she was a string puller if there ever was one.

I just scrunched my nose and nodded to the hallway. "We'll use the old office and you can continue to tell me how you've got no clue about anythin',"

"Okay. I'll plaster on my best innocent face in the meantime." Lucy stood and shimmied her thin frame down the hall without a second thought.

TinTin did a double take when she passed him in the hall and shot a glance over at me. "Holy shit," he grumbled under his breath before he spoke in a low tone. "Are we really enduring this shit storm again?"
