They landed down in the grass just before the sanctuary. Huge buildings were softly planted in the branches of the trees, like giant tree houses. Summer started to lead the way, avoiding the gazes from the other dragons. They often didn't trust fire dragons - everything was easy to catch fire. She glanced over her shoulder at salamander to see him slowly trailing behind.

"You've never actually been here, have you?" she asked, a smirk on her face. He shook his head.

"Summer, what are you doing with a fire dragon and a newt?" a big earth dragon walked up beside her. He didn't try at all to make his voice low so only she could hear. Salamander frowned but continued walking.

"They're my friends, and Birch is hurt really badly. I did what I could to hold him off until we got here. Salamander, this is my brother Oak,"

Oak took a look at the injured dragon that slept upon salamander's back. He frowned.

"This would be excellent work," he began. Summers face lit up.

"if you hadn't used poisonous leaves,"

Her face dropped.

"get going fast, I'm sure it's already infected but if you wait much longer.." he started to trail off. Summerer didn't skip a beat before bounding through the forest towards the infirmary. She looked back every few seconds to make sure salamander was keeping up. She could feel her chest tighten from all the running but she came to a stop before the infirmary stairs.

The stairs spiraled up into a huge building made from logs. Lanterns hung from the edges of the roof. They quickly escalated the stairs and burst into one of the rooms.

"We need help. Fast!" summer screeched.

A teal-colored dragon turned around from whatever he was working on. Salamander took a glance around the room, there were no other patients. The teal dragon quickly moved towards Birch. The unfamiliar dragon and salamander lifted Birch onto the hospital bed.

"You brought him here just in time, the poison has just started to leak into his system," he spoke as he started to work.

Summer's head drooped down in guilt. "This is all my fault," she stammered. She took one last glance at the fire planet dragon before rushing out the door.

"I'm bluejay by the way," the teal dragon spoke without a worry in his voice.

"Salamander,"

"I know who you are, summer never stops talking about you,"

Salamander awkwardly looked away.

"This actually looks a lot worse than I expected.." bluejay stated.

Salamander stepped closer to look at the gash, it did look a lot deeper now that he looked closely at it. It was almost unbelievable a rock could do that much. I mean, I'm sure the poison bandages didn't help. He knew summer was just working fast under pressure and probably didn't notice it was a poisonous plant.

Bluejay turned around to meet salamander's eyes. Fear and sorrow were laced in his gaze. He pitied a dragon he had never met before.

The color began draining from the dragonette's leg. Bluejay knew what he had to do. "I don't think you want to see this," he stated, once again meeting salamander in the eyes.
