I'm sitting in my last but favorite class biology. I always loved playing with micro-organisms in telescopes. I'm counting down the minutes until my first day of school is over. I want answers, and I want them fast. I'm waiting anxiously, staring at the clock. But I'm my peripheral vision I can see Hunter and Courtney watching me. It annoys me, thoroughly.
*RING* *RING* *RING* I finally hear the bell ring. I grab my books and run out of the classroom with Hunter and Courtney hot on my trial. I run down the hallways, trying to avoid those two from questioning me. I finally loose them going different directions, in circles almost. I get to my locker and grab my book bag and jacket. I slam my locker to find them both staring at me. I gasp and nearly jump nearly fifty feet in the air. How did they sneak up on me like that?
"How did you guys find me!?" I yell at them. Clearly I was annoyed, but they started laughing hysterically.
"Did you forget that we're coming to your house this afternoon, of course we came to you." Courtney said to me, wiping tears from her eyes. "We're just waiting for you to text the address so we can come over when you want us to."
I never thought that on my first day of school I'd have 2 friends and both of them coming over my house in the same day. I thought I would be the kid that was a loser, that nobody would talk to or even look at in the hallways. And I thought I would get teased and bullied a lot worse than I am now.
"She's doing it again, Courtney" Hunter says, snapping me back to planet Earth.
"I know Hunter, she does that a lot lately." Courtney says back. I look at them both with a confused look on my face.
"Do you ever realize that you space out sometimes?" Hunter asks me, sounding concerned. He must be worried about my self-being. I quickly patch it up with a lie.
"Yeah, I space out all the time. You could say it's a hobby of mine" I say.
"Ok Naomi, I have to go home but I'll see you at your place later, bye" that's all Courtney said before she left me... With Hunter. I look up at Hunter, who's staring at me with his pretty blue eyes. Our eyes meet in an intense stare down until we can't take it anymore and break the contact. I slightly start to blush.
"Why were you staring at me like that?" I ask Hunter.
"Because you're beautiful Naomi, how can I not stare at you." He says calmly back. My cheeks turn a deep shade of pink. He thinks I'm beautiful? He must be hallucinating or something.
"Actually, I'm not hallucinating Naomi." He says to me. Did I say that out loud, damn it!
"Anyways I have to go too, so I'll see you and Courtney there, ok?" He says, looking straight into my eyes, again.
"Yeah, bye Hunter" I say back. Then the most unexpected thing happens. He leans down, and kisses me on the forehead lightly before walking down the hallway.
OMG...Did he just...No way...No freakin' way! Stop overreacting Naomi, it's just a small peck on the forehead, nothing serious. Besides it was probably just friendly anyways.
****While walking home from school*
Considering I have a fifteen minute walk home from school, I have time to rethink of the events that happened today.
Let's see.... I made a new friend today. I also made a enemy who hates me for gods-knows-what reason and I met the cute boy that's in my class, all my classes. It seems that my day has been normal, considering the circumstances of being the new kid.
I walk up the steps to my front door and slowly open it. Little did I know, Hunter and Courtney were there, in my kitchen. They both turned around and came walking towards me.
