The Odd One Out

Chapter 7: A New Home

"Wow, this castle is HUGE!" I say to Hunter. I've never been in a castle before. The entire place overwhelms me. I feel out of place. Guards and maids walking down the long hallways.

"Hey Hunter, remember when we used to play in the palace gardens?" Courtney says, pointing out to the beautiful green field outside.

"You guys used to play together?" I said.

"Well yeah, I've know Hunter since we were 6. I told you that Violet." Courtney says to me. I start too feel a small pang of jealousy that quickly turns to anger. I slowly start to calm down until the feeling's gone.

"So, Scarlet, this--" Luke, Hunters brother starts to say to me. I immediately correct him.

"It's Violet." I say, annoyed.

"Whatever, Violet. This is gonna be your new home for a while." He says to me.

"Wait, I never said anything about living here. Where on earth did you get that idea from?" I say, surprised.

"Oh Hunter didn't tell you. Once you become a supreme, you live in Peirsomnia forever." He says, smiling a devilish smile at me. I can't help but blush. Hunters face turns to a cold stare at his brother.

"But I don't wanna live here forever. I wanna live with Stephen and Aunt Sarah!" I scream loudly.

"Ugh, not with the whining. Hunter, I thought you said this one wouldn't whine." Luke says. "Look, Violet." Luke starts to say, "I know you don't want to leave Shady West. But you're a supreme, we need you here to defend the rest of the villagers. You're special and you need training before you can fight in battle. Me, Hunter, and Courtney are gonna help you become a strong supreme, so you can help us stop Ophere." He says. I feel more confident about this now. Luke knows how to give a good pep talk. I wonder what else he's good at? No stop thinking like that. Why am I thinking like that? Luke pats my shoulder, comforting me. "Now, you will go to school everyday with Hunter and Courtney. After school, they will drive you here and you will practice in a room in the castle. You will tell you Aunt and brother you decided to go to boarding school. You live here now. I promise you, we will make your life here as comfortable as possible." He says winking at me. I can tell Hunter is getting very annoyed with Luke's behavior. Luke has a demanding tone in his voice. But somehow I seem attracted to it. Both of the Fox brothers are charming.

"Basically what he said." Hunter says to me. Now he's really pissed. I can see it in his eyes. "Now, Courtney will drive you home." But I have questions to ask, so I do.

"Who is Ophere?" I asks. All heads turn to me.

"Well," Hunter starts, "Ophere is a supreme, such as myself. But he's evil. He didn't want to be on the good supreme, like us. So he's part of the other side. We call them 'the odd ones out' since they decided to not be with us, but against us. He has long died, but his spirit is trapped in a human somewhere. If we find him, we could finally put his soul to rest and kill him." He says in one long breath. Wow, I guess I better look out for him then.

"Well, this has been interesting, but we really should be going so Violet can pack and get ready to leave. Plus we have school in the morning." Courtney says, pulling my arm. We both wave the boys goodbye and walk off. Once were in the car Courtney does the same chant again and we're back in Shady West. She drives me home in silence. Once we arrive at my house we finally speak. "Look Violet, I understand if you don't want to do this. But it would be the best thing for you to do." She says calmly.

"I'll think about it. But for now, I think I'd rather sleep it off until tomorrow." I says to Courtney. She nods her head in agreement. We say our goodbyes and I walk out of the car and into the house. I'm greeted by Aunt Sarah first.

"Violet, where have you been, it's almost 1:00 in the morning. Stephen almost filed a missing persons report." She says, worry in her eyes. Her hair is fuzzy and she has dark rings under her eyes.

"Sarah I'm fine, I'm sorry we were out so late. I didn't realize it was almost 1:00 in the morning." I see Stephen come down the stairs with anger in his eyes. Uh-Oh, here we go.

"Seriously Vi, it's almost 1:00 in the morning. You've got Aunt Sarah and me worried sick. You shouldn't be out this late. Even if you are 17 years old!" He yells at me. I know he's not trying to be mean, he's just looking out for me.

"I'm going to boarding school!" I finally shout out. They both look at me with gasped look on their faces. "I filled out an application so starting tomorrow in going to a boarding school for the rest of high school." I say.

"Why Vi, don't you love us?" Stephen finally says.

"Yes, but I think it's safe to say I need to broaden my horizon, not get interested in boys and stuff like that. So I think I should go." I try my hardest to keep myself together, but they're making it extremely hard right now. Of course I love them, but unless I want them dead, I have to do this. I walk up to them and give them both hugs. "I love you guys. I'll miss you." I finally say. I walk up to my room and start to pack so I'll have everything I need by tomorrow.

Let's see, what will I need to leave my family forever until I visit years later. I start packing every piece of clothing I can into every bag I have. After I'm all done packing. I put on my
Pajamas and drift into a deep sleep.

-In Violets Dream-

"Violet" a voice calls to me.

"Who's there, who's calling me?" I say, afraid.

"It's me." A voice says. I turn to find my mother looking at me with open arms. I run straight into her arms, tears rolling down my cheeks. I miss her so much. What I wouldn't give to see her again.

"Momma, I miss you so so much. I wish you were here with me." I say in between sobs.

"I don't have much time Violet because your gonna wake soon but look, you were made to be a supreme. It's in your bloodline. Your great great grandmother was a supreme. The line gets passed down every few years, your the next supreme. This was made for you. I have faith in you my child. Don't let me down. I love you Violet." She says to me.

"I love you too mother. I'll see you in my dreams." I tell her before she disappears. Just as that happens I wake up with a bright smile on my face, ready to start becoming a Supreme.

*That Morning*
"You ready to go, dove" Hunter says to me. I don't know why bet he calls me dove sometimes.

"Yes I'm ready Hunter." I say to him. I walk up to Sarah first to say my goodbye. "Aunt Sarah, you are like my second mother. I'll miss you so much." I hug her tightly.

"I'll miss you too, Violet." She says to me. I walk over to Stephen.

"Stephen, I understand how overprotective you are of me. But I don't need you calling me every 2.5 seconds to check on me, I'll be just fine." I tell him. I kiss him on the cheek and hug him. "I'll miss ya big bro." I tell him.

"I'll miss you too Vi" he says. I walk away from the car and get in with Hunter and Courtney. Once we drive off, Hunter starts talking.

"Ok, so we're taking you to school, me and Courtney have things to prepare for. After school and 3:15, meet us in the parking lot and we'll get started with your training." Hunter says to me. I nod my head in agreement. And get out of the car, getting ready to prepare for my second day at Shady West High.

Ok I'm in a happy mood. I reached my goal of a hundred already. I know some people have like millions of reads and stuff like that but I don't care how many views I get, I just want to write stories. But I am very thankful for my readers today.
