As they trudged through the woods
The Witch, the Paladin and the Warrior
In search of the Maniac
For he hath threatened the people's lives
And the destined fighters sought to eliminate him
As they continued their strides
Their body going rigid and tense
And immediately assuming the fighting stance
As their senses were on high alert
Their eyes picking up the slightest moment
Their ears perking up at the smallest sound
A deep chuckle rang through the forest
It cut the blanket of silence in one sharp snip
Just as how one swing of a blade cuts the thread
Just as how one small mistake breaks the trust
The chuckle cut through the eerie silence of the forest

The Paladin had her bow and arrow in position
The Warrior had his sword drawn
The Witch lashed her whip out
The outlines of the whip glowing a soft glow as her magic tingled along it
The Maniac-
With a hatchet in one hand, a glaive in his other
He had his hood drawn
Obscuring the view to his face
But even a child could say he was smirking under his cover
For it was that obvious
His laugh ran through the forest again
And he slowly lowered his hood
The Paladin gasped
She went weak on her knees
Her heart beat erratically
But she remained standing straight
Her face giving nothing away
She lowered her bow
But it was still drawn
Ready to launch
In a clear voice she spoke:
Her voice unwavering:
She spoke the words that made the Witch and the Warrior gasp
While the Maniac smirked~
