I barely had enough time to recover from the shocking news before someone burst into the room. I stare at them with surprise.
"Jack? What are you--?" "I found it." His voice cracks, and he walks towards me so I can get a better look at him.
Jesus, he looks exhausted. Jack's eyes have dark rings, darker than Saturn's, swallowing his eyes. His five o'clock shadow outlines his face, but aside from that feature, he seems as though he hasn't slept-or showered-in over a week.
"What did you-?" "Sky." He leans closer to me and gently touches my hand. My real hand. I internally wince, but remain still. "I found your ring," he whispers.
