I awake to a dull throbbing in my head and a flashing in my retinas. MINOR CONCUSSION. MINOR CUTS AND BRUISES. That's nice....

I struggle to focus on reality. Everything seems so fuzzy.... Focus. Something happened. Something bad. Shuttle... The crash!

That realization brings me back to reality. I look around me and realize I'm still in my seat. I unbuckle and survey the wreckage around me. My seat seems to be the only one intact; the staff seats littered about like paper in the wind. Along with the bodies. I can't bear to look at the faces as I turn on my detector. I look at the name tags instead and hold my breath as the flashing continues. Lily. NO SIGN OF LIFE. Marcus. NO SIGN OF LIFE. Hannah. NO--I stop.

In front of me is a chair. It's upright too, but the human, the person sitting there, is thrown askew beside it. I don't have to look at the name tag; I run over to it and collapse in in a sobbing pile. My sob escapes me, like a beastly animal crying out to the world. SEVERE TRAUMA. RELAX. SEVERE TRAUMA. RELAX.

"Shut UP!" I say, and ignore the flashing symbols in my retinas. It doesn't matter. Nothing matters. Nothing anywhere matters. Just this. Just this. I see 6 pairs of black boots approach me. BEGINNING SHUT DOWN IN 5... Doesn't matter. 4... Doesn't matter. 3... "Leave me alone!" I shout as the men draw closer. 2... "Toby," I whisper. 1.
