"Good morning, sunshine. You're looking awfully fine today." The Sergeant strolls in, and I angrily blow a strand of dirty hair out of my face. "What?" He looks at me with mock surprise. "Not one for jokes, today?"
"Let's just get this over with," I growl, and the Sergeant walks slowly over to me, always at his maddeningly leisurely pace.
He slowly undoes my handcuffs, one by one, and two guards stand in the corners of the room. "Just in case you try anything...stupid," he whispers to me as I look at them. One of them is Jack. My heart flutters with relief.
He bends down to undo the cuffs by my ankles, and I gratefully stretch my arms. Man, that feels good. The guards nervously shift in their places.
I hear two clicks, and with a sigh, the Sergeant stands up. "There we are, have some wiggle room." He grins his sickening grin, and it takes all I am to restrain myself from snapping his neck right there.
He backs up next to the guards, and I anxiously stand on my feet. I fall back against the chair, my legs numb. It's been so long since I stood up, my legs are a little wobbly.
He laughs cruelly. "What?" He says, smiling at me. "First day with new feet?" "Not quite," I mutter, and manage to stand up on my feet. I jog in place a little bit, exercising my creaky joints. What I would do for a little oil right now....
"There we are," he says, observing my stance. Although my legs are slightly shaking, I manage to hold my own. "Ready for some fresh air?" He speaks to me like some kind of caged animal, but I ignore his comment. "But first, I have to take some...necessary precautions. My heart skips a beat. "Like..?" I stare at him, uncertain. "Like...." he snaps his fingers.
In an instant, the guard-and Jack- are holding my arms. I struggle against them. He steps towards me, his simper widening. "Oh, sweetheart, I'm not going to hurt you," he says with mock friendliness. He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a black cloth. He leans closer, and although I struggle against the guards, I cannot seem to get free. The Sergeant grins, and slips a piece of black cloth over my eyes. The world goes black.
