Sakamoto isn't a light weight, or at least that's what she told Kuroo after asking for yet another drink. She wasn't worried about getting too drunk and even if it happened she felt weirdly safe around the boys and trusted them to not take advantage of her weak state.
And Yumiko was right in one thing, they would never let someone land a hand on her. They felt the need to protect her and they don't know why. Maybe it was because they invited her and felt responsible or the way she rambled whenever she got excited, making wild hand gestures while telling a story. Kuroo took it upon himself to hold her glass after it spilled the first time, while she told them about her family and friends back in her village.
Kuroo, Bokuto and Yumiko sat together with some other people on one of the big couches in the living room. She was thankful that they sat her in-between them, as if they already knew she doesn't like being close to strangers. Even if those strangers are old friends from the boys.
Kenma on the other hand was gone the minute Kuroo handed him his drink back. Yumiko frowned as he disappeared but couldn't delve on it for too long, as she was dragged from the kitchen and introduced to a bunch of new people only seconds later.
Now she was sitting there on the couch, asking Kuroo for her drink whenever she wanted to take a sip. Bokutos warm hand resting on her thigh while he talked to a tall guy with grey straight hair about the upcoming volleyball season.
I think his name was Kona or maybe Konoho ....not sure
Yumiko hummed the tune to the song that was currently playing and looked around for a bit, letting her eyes wander over all the people that surrounded her.
She frowned and turned to Kuroo. Tapping his shoulder lightly he looked away from the group he was talking to and gave her his attention instead. He held out her drink, thinking that's what she was asking for but Yumiko shook her head.
"Where's Akaashi? I haven't seen him all night."
Ahh that was what she wanted to know..
Kuroo just shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know to be honest, he went out to buy more drinks with Yaku. Not sure why he isn't back yet."
He smiled at her disappointed face, amused by her reaction. "Why? Do you miss your Loverboy already, cutie? I'm hurt, looks like Bokuto and I aren't enough for you, huh."
Yumiko blushed at the implication. "Don't call him that, we're barely even friends."
Kuroo chuckled. "Good to know that the spot isn't taken then."
Yumiko shook her head at his bashfulness. "You really have no filter do you Kuroo?"
"Not if the topic is concerning you, cutie." He took the last couple sipps from her drink, that he was still holdin onto und stood up. "I'll get you a new one, any suggestions?"
