Miley was dressed and ready for school by 6:30am since Jacob was coming at 7:30 to get her there by 8. She had showered, did light makeup, and was dressed and lint rolling herself until she figured she was presentable. By that time Bella and Charlie were only starting their morning routines as Miley went and began cooking breakfast for everyone.
Charlie seemed ecstatic as Bella still appeared gloomy as the day before. Miley wanted to ask her sister but wondered if she'd even tell her. They are in an awkward silence until a car horn beeped making Miley shoot up and grab her bag. Quickly throwing her dishes in the sink for later she ran outside saying quick goodbyes that only her father really answered. Walking out the door she quickly walked out to Jacobs dads truck that he had to borrow until he got his Rabbit finished.
Miley smiled full heartedly trying to appear not nervous but Jacob could read her like a book. "Good morning you nervous?" Jacob asked with a knowing smile as Miley's smile faded a little. "You can tell huh? I don't know I'm just a bit timid considering the fact I'm not even from the tribe and I bet everyone will be able to tell." Miley rambled making Jacob nod and chuckle dryly. "Yeah they may stare but it's only because they have nothing better to do. Plus new people in general will make them excited until the buzz wears down. But don't worry I'll scare them off." Jacob laughed making Miley join in although the news did make her more nervous then before.
"So Jacob how have you been?" Miley asked trying to form a normal conversation but Jacob snorted sarcastically. "You can call me Jake and I'm still good since yesterday." He stated sarcasm clearly visible. Jake wasn't being a jerk he more so wanted to get Miley used to the fact he could be sarcastic but she didn't seem to mind. In fact she laughed at the fact she had just seen him and had only been trying to make things less awkward but made them more so. "I'm sorry I've just never really.... had friends before so I don't know what to talk about." Miley smiled genuinely looking anywhere but him not sure he'd even consider himself her friend yet or at all.
What she said made him tense for a second but play it off, "Well we will get back to our old bestie routes and talk normal don't you worry. Besides Quill and Embry will help and make things more social, especially Quill." He joked but Miley tensed forgetting that Jacob knew everyone at this school and would have other friends. Before she could express any worry of them not liking her Jake was pulling into the school parking lot making her throat clench up and her eyes to look all over.
Everyone merely glanced already recognizing Billy's truck and putting together Jake was driving it. Miley's eyes looked at everyone and no one noticed her sat there with Jacob. Jacob snapped a fingers in her face making her blink and look at him startled. "I said we should get going Quill and Embry just pulled in." He referred to his friends that stood beside each other one looking like he was bouncing with excitement. The other looked to be laughing but avoided looking like he too was excited to see the new girl although he was. No one new had ever really come to the res considering it was mostly for their tribe.
