I check my phone as soon as I wake up. Nothing. Strange Finn isn't one to keep me in the dark like this. I hope he's ok. I start my normal routine. I am greeted in the shop by none other than Max.
"So how did it go meeting your future grandmother?"
"She's so sweet Max. And funny too. Old gal still has her wit in tact."
"What's this?" My mother says from stepping out from the back room.
Shit! I have been keeping seeing Liam on. The down low since she disapproves.
"Who's grandmother did you see? Hopefully not that Cork boy."
"Mom..."
"Marie relax." Max interjects but it suddenly stopped by my mothers death stare. She snaps back at me.
"It was wasn't it?? Dahlia, stop seeing this boy!!" She slams her hand on the counter.
"You don't even know him!" I lunge at her.
An argument starts to unfold. Max quietly sneaks out of the room.
"I know that it's only going to lead to danger! Please listen to me."
"Mom just give him a chance and meet him." I beg.
"I don't need to meet him. I already know."
"Know what??? Tell me." I shake my hands in frustration.
"He's just not good for you. That's what I know."
"You know mom, ever since I've been seeing him you've been so defensive. I've never seen you this way. I'm just trying to understand why. Please explain this to me."
"Dahlia you will not see this boy anymore! And that's it."
"I'm not a child mom! You can't tell me who I can and can not date"
"I don't care how old you are Dahlia! You're my child and I am always going to protect you no matter what. And I'm telling you he's not good."
"If you can't come up with a better reason I'm going to keep seeing him."
"Dahlia if you don't stop seeing him you can move out!" She says with fire in her voice.
"Fine!" I throw my hands up.
"What! No! You are not to see him end of story." She crosses her arms taking a stand.
I blurt the words out before I can even think them.
"I love him!"
"No, no you don't. You may think you do but you don't."She argues while pointing at me.
"You don't know anything about our relationship!"
"I don't need to because I already do."
"Just tell me what happened between you and my father and why you're bringing this into my relationship."
"Dahlia this is neither the time and place for this. Go home." She demands of me.
With tears in my eyes I angrily rush out of the door and drive home. I immediately call Liam. He doesn't answer. I try again.
"Hey! I'm just..."
"Liam.."
"Yeah doll what's wrong?" He can hear me crying.
"Im pretty sure I got kicked out of my home and no longer have a job."
"Why? What happened?" He says concerned.
