Chapter six.

marlena is six weeks pregnant now and her morning sickness is still horrible and making her really miserable.

She hates being off work, but she knows it's the best and safest thing to do for herself and for the baby.

marlena wants to be busy, when she's not, it makes her depressed and gives her negative body image.

marlena isn't quite showing yet she is gaining weight and she isn't dealing with that so well.

she feels hideous the only thing keeping her from being even more miserable is the tiny life that is growing inside of her, her baby.

john, I look horrible I'm gaining so much weight, I really dislike being pregnant right now, marlena says while standing in front of the mirror before she and john leave for their dinner date.

doc, baby, you look beautiful and you're not even showing at all.

john tells marlena as he gives her an assuring smile.

You sure, i really do not look fat at all?, marlena asks her husband.

I am one hundred percent positive, you are not fat , you are positively glowing and you are an unbelievably gorgeous pregnant woman, john told his wife.

You're lying, marlena told her husband.

marlena I promise you, I'm not lying to you at all, I would never do that, look at me, I know this hard on you, but I'm not going to let you beat yourself up like this, it's not good for you and it isn't good for the baby either.

john told his wife as he stroked her arm.

I'm sorry, marlena told her husband.

it's Okay just don't be so hard on yourself, and you look gorgeous, john, told his wife

Thank you so much you know, for putting up with me, marlena told her husband.

There's no need for a thank you, marlena, you're my wife and you're pregnant.

I would kind of be a shitty husband if I didn't take care of you and make you feel better, john replied.

You're so nice, marlena told her husband.

I wasn't just being nice I am telling the truth, john replied.

Well whatever it is you are doing ,I appreciate it, now enough sappy stalling on my part, Let's get going, marlena told her husband.

So do you have a gut feeling on what the gender of the baby is? john asks

I'm pretty sure it's a boy and I'm hoping it is, I've always thought our first baby would be a boy, but who knows, marlena says with a smile.

Yeah, that's kind of funny, I have always thought the same thing, john replies

I know you want a boy so hopefully that's what the baby is, marlena told her husband.

marlena, I told you that I don't care what our baby is, john replies.

I know you did, but I can tell from your face when we are in the store and we go in the baby section and see all the baby boy clothes and stuff, marlena says to her husband.
