Chapter seven.

Eighteen weeks pregnant sure doesn't seem like much to marlena seeing as days pass slowly when she's alone.

However, it is very close to the halfway point so that's a relief.

She and john are very anxious to find out the gender of the baby
so that isn't exactly helping.

Fortunately, the baby seems to be healthy, which gives john and marlena so much relief.

Every day marlena waits for her baby to kick because she wants to feel so she finally knows how healthy the baby really is.

"Marlena, are you alright, you're awfully quiet?, john asked her

"Yeah, I'm fine, I'm just getting a little concerned because the baby really doesn't move that much.

Marlena told her husband

"The baby is fine, johm told his wife.

I know but I just wish I could stop worrying so much.

Marlena told her husband.

"It' okay to be worried marlena really it is, just don't stress yourself out so much, john told her.

"I'll try not to, I promise, marlena told her husband.

"Good, I really don't like to see you so stressed, you know, john told his wife.

"I know, marlena said to her husband.

Marlena feels her stomach flutter the next day, so she thinks it may mean the baby is going to start kicking soon.

"Come on Sweetie, don't you want to kick for Mommy?, Don't you want to show Mommy and Daddy how healthy and strong you are?.

I know you do, You're a strong, healthy baby, I know you are."

Marlena whispers smiling and staring down at her now definitely visible baby bump.

She really wants to meet her baby and to see how beautiful its little face is.

Also, she's really getting tired of calling her baby 'it.

Marlena wants to know if she and john are going to have a son, or a daughter, whether the nursery will be pink or blue, whether they will be buying baby dresses or little baby suits.

Marlena and john are sitting on the couch.

John....

Marlena said as she looks up at him

"What's the matter marlena, are you okay?.

John asked her.

"Yeah I'm fine… it's the baby… the baby just kicked… oh my god, the baby just kicked.

Marlena told her husband as she takes his hand and lays it on her growing belly.

"Oh my god that's amazing,

john said as he rubbing marlena's belly.

"I know, isn't it wonderful?,
That's our baby moving,
It all seems so much more real now, Marlena told her husband.

To marlena being pregnant is both the most wonderful thing and annoying at the same time.

She hates being tired and having swollen feet all the time, but on the other hand, she loves being able to feel the baby kick and move around inside or, it's the most amazing feeling.

Today is the day that marlena and john are finding out the sex of their baby.

Needless to say, they are beyond excited about it.
