Y/N POV:

After hearing Coach Bombay was back in town I asked my twin brother Lester to cover my shift at the movie theatre so I could go visit coach, but really I went to play street puck with Jesse.

Oh, I forgot to introduce myself, my name is y/n Averman, I was on the championship team The Mighty Ducks. I am definitely short for my age which earned me the nickname "Spini" which comes from my height and my figure skating abilities (a combination of the words spin and mini). You see I wasn't a member of the District Five team, back then I still figure skated. In fact, I was on track to become a pro, but when Bombay convinced me to join the Ducks, I fell out of love with figure skating and in love with hockey. It gave me the chance to be part of a team, something I had never been offered before.

I was in a crouched position spinning in between the legs of the defenders getting into a scoring position. As Jesse passed the puck to me I slapped it into the tipped-over garbage can that we used as a goal.

"Score!" I cheered as Jesse came over to hug me. Jesse was like an older brother to me, like all the other guys on the team.

As we resumed playing Jesse skated down the middle of the basketball court using his puck handling skills to shoot a goal. As he started celebrating again we heard a weird duck noise and turned around.

"Hey Charlie!" Jesse yelled over to him.

"Jesse, y/n we're back!" Charlie exclaimed to us. Jesse and I looked at each other, huge grins plastered on our faces as we dropped our borrowed sticks and raced out of the fence. As we jumped onto the sidewalk next to Charlie he told us "Let's go get Averman," as he skated towards the mall.

Once we got inside the mall we skated around crowds of people, me including little spins and jumps as I went. At one point I heard some old guy yelling at us which in response I quickly circled him and skated backwards facing him to see the livid look on his face. I turned around to catch up with the boys again, laughing as I did so. We skated off towards the escalator.

As we reached the top Charlie said "Let's go Jesse, y/n. Over to the left!" as we raced towards the theatre. As we reached the outside of the entrance Charlie blew on the duck whistle and caught my brother's attention.

"Averman let's go!" "Come on!" "Get over here Leslie!" we all shouted towards him.

"But, but, but," my brother started to protest.

"Don't make me skate in there," I threatened him. He quickly left the booth and changed into his street clothes and roller blades as we all skated out of the mall. Charlie knocked off some old man's hat in the process, which my brother and I laughed at.

"Where now?" I asked as we skated under a bridge.

"We gotta get Connie and Guy," Charlie answered as we raced off to find them. As we spotted them we all quickly stopped and watched them. As Guy pulled Connie in for a kiss, I grabbed the whistle from Charlie and blew it, interrupting them. They immediately split up and looked at us.

"The quack attack is back Jack!" my brother yelled motioning for them to come with us.

"Come on, let's go!" my hockey-loving best friend Connie exclaimed to her boyfriend as she ran to get her rollerblades on. At least I think Guy and Connie are dating, I'll have to ask her.

"Come on!" Jesse, Charlie, Averman, and I called to Guy.

"I was this close!" Guy dramatically declared with his fingers an inch apart.

"You snooze, you lose," I yelled back as the rest of the boys laughed.

When Connie and Guy were finally ready to go we skated onwards to get Goldberg. We skated through a construction site, weaving in and out of cones, laughing the whole time. As I led us through the cones, a Cherry Picker lowered blocking my path, using one of my old competition jumps, I leaped over the machine safely landing on the other side. A relieved laugh left my mouth as I landed while the rest of the ducks present congratulated me. I looked back to see one of the workers getting covered in wet cement as we skated off.

We skated up to Goldberg's family deli and looked through the glass to see him working. Charlie blew the duck whistle once more as Goldberg looked up. My brother, Guy, and Jesse shoved their faces up against the glass as Charlie, Connie, and I yelled for Goldberg to come out. He looked at us with a smile and quickly left to join us.

With our Goalie in tow, we skated onto another bridge jumping and spinning as we went. It reminded me of why I quit figure skating to join the Ducks, it was because we were always laughing together. We skated down a grassy hill and into a big paved center with a fountain. We all jumped up onto the base of the fountain and skated through. My brother and I kicked up water at each other while we did.

We skated on a street full of nice-looking houses and stopped in front of one to see Adam playing hockey on his driveway.

"He's coming across the goalie, between his legs-score!" Adam narrates as he shoots the puck. Once again a duck whistle sounds as Adam turns around to face us.

"Hey cake-eater, wanna play some real hockey?" Jesse asks as the rest of us encourage Adam to join us.

"Yeah," Adam says with a small crack in his voice which Connie and I silently laugh at. We all skated away from Adam's house and continued through a small park.

"Guys, it's an international competition..." I started.

"It's us against the world!" my twin brother finishes.

"Hey man bring'em on we're ready!" Goldberg cheers.

"Oh Goldberg," Jesse says, slapping Goldberg's shoulder causing him to trip over himself and tumble down a hill. Which landed him in the middle of a family having a picnic, causing my brother and me to burst out laughing.

We continued skating through the park stopping in front of a tree that had 3 Hawks tied together in nothing but their underwear.

"That'll teach ya to mess with the Ducks!" Fulton exclaims as the rest of us cheer for him. As we left the park, not before me teasing the Hawks players, of course, we continued down the road to meet Bombay. On the way Charlie blew the duck whistle as the rest of us quacked, I had really missed skating with my team, even if some members were missing.

As we skated down the final street we saw Coach Bombay and started chanting "Coach! Coach! Coach!" We formed a circle around him still cheering and yelling our heads off.

"Welcome back Ducks. I really missed you guys. Are you ready to fly?" Coached asked us with a smile on his face.

"Yeah" we all yelled and started another round of cheering and clapping. We were stopped by a car horn and turned around to find a limo. We all stared at the limo in awe.

"Can't be from this neighborhood," somebody says but Connie and I are too busy whispering about the limo to each other. As the limo stopped in front of us an old, short man popped his head out of the sunroof.

"Hey guys. I'm Don Tibbles, Hendrix Hockey Apparel. We're your official sponsors. Anybody want a card?" the shorter guy offered. We all started responding and quickly skated over to get our cards, me being squashed in the middle due to my height, but I was used to it. As we all dispersed to go home I saw coach going to sit in the limo, so I turned around and skated home with my older brother. We got a call later that night letting us know to come by the rink tomorrow to meet the new players joining us. I was pretty excited to meet our new teammates. Hopefully, there was another girl, it wouldn't come close to evening out the testosterone levels, but it would still be nice.
