(a/n) Ok, so here is the first real part of the story. The song is the Pokemon Journeys theme since I had to include that somehow, and I thought it fit with the chapter. Enjoy!
It was early in the morning and you were still sleeping in your bed, when suddenly...
(Your Pov)
"Ah! Munchlax! Get off of me!" I yelled, pulling my mom's pokemon off of my face. I checked the time, 7 am, way to early for me to be up.
"(y/n)! Wash your face and come for breakfast!" I heard my mom call from the kitchen. I groaned.
"(y/n) hurry, I made pancakes!" my mom called again.
"Coming!" I said back and I went to the bathroom to wash up and brush my teeth. Once I was done I came back to my room to pick an out fit for the day.

Once I decided I put on the clothes and went into the kitchen where my mom was waiting with a plate of pancakes at my spot. I sat down and started eating.
"Thank you for making pancakes mom, these are the best!" I said around bites.
"Well it will be a while before you eat breakfast here" my mom said.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Your starting on your pokemon journey today, aren't you?" my mom asked smiling.
I stood up "Your letting me go?!" I said. My mom had said when I told her I was getting a pokemon that she would think about letting me go traveling, I didn't think she would say yes. I was so excited!
"Yes I'm letting you go. I thought about it and your very mature, I think you'll be able to handle yourself. And besides, you'll have a pokemon with you, you'll take care of each other."
"Thank you thank you thank you mom!" I said.
"Of course, now eat you're breakfast, Hop will be waiting" said my mom.
I finished my pancakes and just when I was putting my plate in the sink the doorbell rang. "I'll get it" I said. I went to open the door and Hop, my childhood friend, was on the other side.
"(y/n) where were you? I thought you'd come to my place right away to get a pokemon!"
"Hop, it's 8:30 in the morning, you can't expect me to come over right away. Besides, Lee isn't going to be here until noon, right?"
"We can still talk at my place, come on!" Hop said taking off down the road.
"Can I go mom?" I asked.
"Sure, go ahead, just come back home before you start you're journey" my mom said.
"Ok, bye mom" I said before I went outside.

"So what kinds of pokemon do you think lee will have for us?" Hop asked when I caught up to him.
"I don't know, we'll have to wait and see"
"I hope it's something cool"
"That would be nice"
"You could be a little more enthusiastic" Hop frowned.
"No one can be as enthusiastic as you Hop" I said.
Hop laughed "Yeah, I guess you're right. Maybe..." Hop kept talking about how excite he was for our pokemon, and he was really excited. Hop already had the Wooloo he got when he was 10, but he hadn't been allowed on a journey then. I could understand his excitement, but I didn't usually get over excited. I was thinking about it when I something caught my attention just off the path. There was a Wooloo rolling into a gate leading into the forest, it looked like the Wooloo was trying to break it down. I got Hop's attention. "What's going on over there?" I asked.
Hop shrugged "I don't know, maybe that Wooloo just wants to get free, but it wont be much better off in the Slumbering Weald"
I nodded. As kids we had all heard rumors about the Slumbering Weald, the forest beside our town. The rumors said that the fog was so thick that you couldn't see your hand in front of your face, and while you couldn't see, a monster would would sneak up behind you and drag you to the heart of the forest, never to be seen again. No one knew how much of that was true though, because people who went into the Slumbering Weald hardly ever came out.
Hop must have noticed the worried look on m face. "It'll be fine, it's just a Wooloo, it's not like it will actually break the fence" then he took off running towards his house.
I waited there for a minute, staring at the woods. The wind blew through the branches of the trees and it almost sounded like the were whispering.
"(y/n) you coming?" Hop called from farther down the path.
"Yeah, be right there" I said distantly. I took one last look at the woods before following Hop down the road.
(Ash's Pov)
"Attention all passengers, the flight from Celadon city to Motostoke will be arriving soon. Please make sure you have all your belongings and your devices are turned off. Thank you for choosing Pelipper airlines, we hope to see you again. Have a nice day!" said the lady over the speakers.
"Did you hear that Pikachu? We're almost there!" I said.
"Pika pika!" Pikachu said excitedly.
"I wonder what the Galar region is like" I said.
"Pika!" Pikachu said looking out the window.
"I can't wait!" I said, ready for my next adventure.
