Chapter thirteen - Amelia

It is crowded in Lilians office. Me, Mabel and Evelyn are sitting on the couch, Lilian is sitting in her chair, miss Harris is leaning against the desk and Nick is standing in the middle with his arms crossed.

' Can you show us the evidence you have Amelia?' Lilian asks. Her voice is calm and friendly. It hurts me to think she has dealt with situations like this a lot in her career.

' Sure' I grab my camera out of my bag.

'I always film my lessons as most of you know. So I did that when I had my private session with Nick. But I couldn't bring my camera and Arrow with me out of the arena so I decided to pick it up later' I explain.

' But apparently it kept filming Evelyns training session as well because when I was watching it back Sunday I also saw a big part of her training'.

' And?' miss Harris asks. She wants me to come to the point.

' And I will show you what I saw'

I hold the camera so that everyone can see it. I press play.

You can clearly see Nick touching Evelyn multiple times even when she clearly is not comfortable with his touches.

' I think we have seen enough' miss Harris says. I can tell she is disgusted by it.

' That doesn't proof anything!' Nick says.' Yes I am a touchy person. But if Evelyn had any problem with it, why didn't she just tell me that huh?'.

Evelyn starts crying.' Because I was scared'.

' Nick, you and I are going to my office' miss Harris says.' Right now'.

Nick follows her without any word.

' Okay, girls thank you for your help. You can leave now too'. Mabel and I both stand up and leave the room.

' That was really nice of you' she says to me. I shrug.' It's the right thing to do'.

' Still, you could have said nothing and just let it go'.

' Well I guess I'm not that bad person you all think I am' I say.

' I don't think that. I admire you. Your riding is amazing'.

I smile. This was the first time someone here actually said something nice to me.

We wait outside of the office and talk about how miss Harris is going to kick Nicks ass until Evelyn and Lilian come outside.

' Evelyn is going home for a little while' Lilian says while holding her arm around Evelyn.' We think that is the best for Evelyn right now'.

' And what happens with Nick?' I ask. ' Nick is getting charged. The police will come to pick him up. He will also be fired so you will never have to see him again'.

' Good'.

We are all sitting at a table after saying goodbye to Evelyn. The lesson for today have been canceled and the other students are being informed that Nick is not coming back because of a personal issue.

'How did we not notice this' Sabrina says.' I mean we all thought Nick was trying to be very popular but not this'.

' I think thats why he did the private training sessions' Mabel says.' To get closer without anyone seeing it'.

' He picked Evelyn because she is very quiet' I say.' People like that always pick the weakest most vulnerable out of a group of people. Not saying that Evelyn is weak, I mean you are very brave writing that on a wall'.

We all agree. It really feels like we are all in one team. Team Evelyn. For a moment we all forget that we are in a competition.
