POV Amelia

We are all sitting outside Lilians office. After what happened to Mabel, the competition was canceled.

I look around. Everyone is here: Jesse, Isabella, Mabel, Sabrina and some other contestants. We are all being called one by one into her office for questioning.

Jesse seems bored, Mabel looks happy as always, Sabrina looks nervous and  Isabella as mysterious as always. You can never get any clue whats going on inside her head.

Two days after the competition she got an official apology from the school for not believing her story last year. But she ironically still is a suspect.

' Why are you here?' I ask Mabel.' Seems kinda strange to cut your own stirrup'.

' They just want to know if I noticed anything' she answers.

The door is being opened and a girl from our lesson leaves the room.' Jesse you are next'.

'Finally' He jumps up and walks with big steps into the office. The door is being shut behind him.

I look at Sabrina. She looks bad. She is bitting her nail and her leg is shaking.

'I hope we don't have to do it again' I say, to no one in particular. I don't like silences.'My round was perfect'.

Isabella looks up at me.' Good for you'.

She is back to being a bitch.

I decide to grab my phone and scroll on some social media. A lot of posts about Mabel. A photographer clicked a picture on the perfect moment: you can see Mabel holding on to Arabella while they are flying over the jump.

Still a miracle that she didn't fell.

I scroll down and see that there has been a petition to take down our school.

I feel sick. This place feels like my home. A lot of things that have happened here for the past two years are definitely fucked up but I don't want to leave here yet.

The thought of having to leave at the end of this year is already hard enough.

POV Isabella

I'm next after Jesse. He gives me a dirty look when I pass him. Still mad that I ended up refusing his offer.

I have other things on my mind now that its finally recognized. I don't have time to play games and 'pretend' to be a couple with him in order to get more fans.

And I don't have to. As a 'sorry' for not believing me they placed me automatically in the finale, since I have the right to a do-over.  So I don't need Jesse anymore to stay here.

I sit down at the chair. Lilian and miss Harris are both sitting at one side of the table and a man I don't know is sitting behind it.

'This will be recorded' He puts on a recorder.

'Fine' I throw my leg over the other and take on a defensive attitude. It is bullshit that I am even being questioned.

'I am detective Michaels. We are treating your case and Mabels both as deliberately causing injury'.

' You mean attempted murder' I say.

He looks at me.' That is a big word'.'

I lean forward.' I was almost dead and my horse is dead. Thats called murder sir'.

He looks uncomfortable with my attitude. Clearly he is not used to teenagers sticking up for themselves against a police officer.

Well I am not going to let the person who killed my horse and almost me getting away with 'deliberately causing injury'.

POV Mabel

After Isabella its Amelias turn. I look over at Sabrina. She looks bad. She hasn't talked to me since the competition. She is never in our room until I fall asleep and leaves before I wake up. It's like she's been avoiding me.

I look at her.' Are you okay?'

She doesn't look at me, keeps her eyes focused on her nails.' I'm fine'.

Her voice sounds like she is about to start crying.

I put my hand on her shoulder.' You can tell me. You know that right?'.

The door opens and Amelia walks out.' You are next ' she says to me.

I get up from my chair. But before I go in, Amelia pulls me away from Sabrina.

Her volume is so low that I almost can't hear her.'I saw Sabrina when I came out of the arena. It looked like she had done something she shouldn't have'.

' Are you saying that?..'

But before she can answer miss Harris opens the door.' Mabel let's go'.

I look from Amelia to Sabrina while entering the room. Is it true?
