"Hermione's here."At those words, Evelyn jumps up from Fred's bed and runs over to Ginny, who'd burst into the room without prior acknowledgement to tell Evelyn who'd just arrived. "Hermione's here?"
Ginny nods excitedly. "Yes," she grabs Evelyn's hand, "now let's go!"
The next thing they knew, their steps rumbled quieter and quieter down the stairs. George opens his mouth for a quick word, but just as the words are ready to roll from his tongue, there's a chorus of gleeful cheers and excited screams.
"You ever wonder if she'd be that excited to see us if we were women?" Fred questions.
George chuckles a little. "I haven't, no... but now I might, so thanks so much for that."
Fred shoots his brother a quick wink. "Anything, best brother."
They swallow in the silence, quiet background giggles and pitched chatter climbing the stairs to only add to the weighing fact that they were left out to be in their room.
Fred speaks up first after two minutes. "You wanna go get her?"
George stands instantly and starts for the door. "Read my mind."
They take themselves quickly, but stealthily, down both turns of stairs in order to make it to the kitchen.
"Are you kidding? Your hair looks gorgeous," they can hear Evelyn rave.
"I wasn't sure about it," Hermione admits timidly.
"No!" Ginny instantly objects, "it's so pretty! It suits you so well!"
"Well thank you," Hermione laughs, the blush evident in her voice.
George and Fred round the corner, watching the girls chat just before noticing that through their whole conversation Hermione had been squished between Harry and Ron in a tight embrace.
"You smell like cat though," Ron notifies her.
She shoves him off her playfully. "Shut up."
Evelyn and Ginny begin to giggle and the boys decide to jump into conversation.
"Why hello, Granger," Fred greets with a cheeky grin.
Hermione's smile flushes. "Fred..."
"Hermione," George bows his head before stepping up behind the girl still in her pajama shorts. "Evie," he grins.
"Oh, sush. I've been here for a week," she reminds him in amusement, gently jutting back her elbow to get him in the stomach.
He dodged it quickly, keeping close to her. "Come back upstairs," He whines. He takes her shoulders in his hands and shakes her back and forth.
