I looked up at the ceiling waiting for Mikasa to wake up. I had been crying off and on since I had woken up. I had a small headache, and my left index finger hurt. I gripped onto the red scarf that layed on my stomach. I felt Mikasa shift, I looked over and she was sitting up rubbing her eyes. They looked a little red but I didn't blame her I probably didn't look any better.
"Morning Mika." I said trying to sound cheerful, but not getting the full effect. "Hi." She said, giving me a small wave.
I heard the creak of floor boards at the door, and saw a young boy with brown hair, and green eyes.
"Mom, dad they're awake." He said poking his head out the door.
A second later, and Doctor Yeager walked in and smiled, "You're looking better this morning."
I just gave him a small smile, 'was he lying to make me feel better? He could just be honest I may be a kid but I wasnt stupid.' I thought as he inspected my injuries. He said I was allowed to sit up, and if I felt like it I could walk around the house. Mikasa stayed there the whole time listening to every word he said. I saw the boy's mother come in with food. She set it on a nightstand that was by the bed. The scarf was still half wrapped around Mikasa, and laying under my hand.
"How are you two feeling?"
"Fine." I said fidgeting with my fingers. I had a habit of doing this when I got nervous or when I got yelled at.
"Are you Eren's mom?"
The women smiled, and nodded. "My name is Carla."
I nodded my eyes wondering to the window. I longed to be in the woods running around. Or by a creek under mine, and Mikasa's tree.
"Can I go outside?" I asked, looking at Mrs.Yeager.
"I don't think that's a good idea, you're still recovering."She said resting a hand on the edge of the bed.
"I-Okay." I sighed looking back out the window.
"We can watch the clouds from here for today." Mikasa said.
I felt my mood lighten, and I shifted so Mikasa could sit by me.
I heard Mrs. Yeager chuckle, I looked behind us, and saw the boy named Eren.
"Would you like to join?" I asked.
He seemed hesitant but nodded. I smiled and pulled Mikasa closer to me so Eren could see out the window.
I smiled while looking at a cloud, "Look that one looks like a flower." I said pointing.
Eren, and Mikasa looked where I was pointing, Mikasa smiled but Eren looked confused.
"Where?"
"That one." I said, still pointing.
"It just looks like a cloud."
"You have to use your imagination, put the shapes together. It's the same with star constellations."
Eren cocked his head to the side, and gasped, "I see it!" he said.
We watched the clouds for a while until we heard a faint knock come from the front door.
"Eren, Armin is here." I heard Mrs. Yeager say.
"Coming!" Eren said, hopping off the bed.
When Eren left the room, I looked at Mikasa.
"Hey Mika?"
"Ya?"
"Do I look like I'm getting better?"
Mikasa nodded her head.
I smiled
"Why does something hurt?"
"No I'm just wondering cause I want to get better." I said simply.
I heard floor boards creek and I saw Eren, but he had someone with him.
"This is my friend Armin." Eren said pointing at a blonde boy, "Armin these are Mikasa, and Y/N." He said pointing at us. "Hi." Armin said.
"Hi." Me and Mikasa said.
"What were you guys doing?" Armin asked shyly.
"We were watching the clouds."Eren said.
"Wouldn't it be better to do that outside."
"Y/N cant go outside right now." Eren explained.
I scooted over to Mikasa getting a little tired.
"Can rest my head on your lap Mika?" I asked quietly.
She nodded. I smiled laying down using her lap as a pillow.
"Y/N, Armin likes all the stuff you do too." Eren said
"So you like the ocean, and the sky?" I asked.
He nodded excitedly.
"So are we all friends now?" Eren asked.
We all nodded smiling at each other. We ended up talking for a few hours until Armin had to leave. Eren's mom ended up bringing us food. I was laying near Mikasa now. I felt safest when I was around her.
"What did you guys do all day?" Ms. Yeager asked.
"We talked about the sky and ocean." Eren said shamlsly
His mom just smiled, she must have noticed how tired I looked because she told Eren it was time for bed.
She brought extra bedding, and placed it on the other side of the bed. Eren's mom helped me into bed, then made sure Mikasa was settled. Then she left, leaving us as the sun was behind the wall, and the sky a dark purple. After a while I sat back up looking out the window.
"What are you doing?" I heard Mikasa asked, sitting up.
"I like to see the first stars appear."
"Can I watch?"
I smiled, and scooted so she could see as well.
"Thanks for being my friend Mika."
"I should be thanking you for being mine."
We both laughed quietly.
"Looks like we have more friends." I said watching a few stars appear.
"Ya they seem nice."
I yawned, and satisfied with my sky watching I crawled back into bed pulling the covers up. Mikasa did the same.
I layed there hoping Mikasa would fall asleep soon. My mind started to wonder about my Parents. Just the thought of them made my eyes water. I let a few tears run down my face, I bit the inside of my cheek trying to stop a sob from escaping. It didn't really work well, and I soon started to cry quietly. I felt Mikasa shift, and I bit my hand trying to stop noise coming from me.
"Y/N? Are you okay?" I heard Mikasa whisper.
Her words broke me, and I cried freely. I was sitting up my legs up to my chest, and my head resting on my knees. I felt Mikasa move towards me. I felt warm arms wrap around me. I fell into them crying.
"Y/N its okay."
I shook my head, It wasn't okay, it just wasn't.
I felt something soft being wrapped around my neck, and looked up. Mikasa had wrapped the scarf around us both, and we both cried together.
