Chapter 1: How it all Began

*Narrator's POV*

It was what seemed like a normal day in the Minecraft Universe...

It was a beautiful day in the city. Streets bustling with villagers trading and talking with one another. Looking through shop windows and just all in all have a good time. It was peaceful.

A boy walked down the sidewalk wearing a light blue hoodie, black pants and blue sneakers. He has light brown hair and big, bright blue eyes. Who is this boy? Why none other than TrueMU/Minecraft Universe. This was before the spacesuit and helmet. But little does he know, his whole world is about to change.

*TrueMU's POV*

I walked through the paths in the city on this beautiful day. The sky was blue, the villagers were chatting and trading and it was all around a great day. I turned the corner and walked down the street Mr. Gladstone worked in. I was told he wanted to see me today. I wondered what about. I walked in the red carpeted building up to the villager sitting at his desk I'm the middle of the room. He wore a white shirt and had green eyes.

"Hi," I said. "I think Mr. Gladstone wanted to see me today."

"Yes! He says it's urgent!" The villager replied.

"I-it's urgent?" I ask confused.

"He's upstairs! Hurry!"

"Ok ok. Thank you. Have a nice day." I said heading to the staircase behind him.

"I wonder what news Mr. Gladstone has for me today." I said quietly to myself as I walked up the stairs.

As I reached the top Mr. Gladstone stood waiting for me.

"What's up Mr. Gladstone? How are you doing?" I greeted.

"I'm doing ok... But listen!" He replied.

"So what's the news?" I asked.

"Wait... There's an infection spreading..." He said slowly.

"Whoa whoa whoa whoa an infection? What're you talking about?"

"A virus has broken out in the city..."

"Wh-wh-what like zombies? What do you mean?"

"Zombies... Yes..."

"Oh no... And it's already happening?"

It's happening right now..."

"Oh crap." I said. I gotta check out the window right now. I thought. I made my way over to the big window and looked around nervously. Could it really be true? A virus was turning everyone into zombies? I looked around but I didn't see anyone outside, when just a few minutes ago it was bustling with people.

"I don't know Mr. Gladstone... I don't see anybody, there was a lot of people outside earlier... But it looks like the streets are empty... So I don't..."

I turned around to see three zombies headed right for Mr. Gladstone. I pulled out my stone sword and rushed towards him. "Mr. Gladstone! Watch out!" I cried and started slashing at the zombies three more coming up the stairs.

"I'll protect you." I said hitting the zombies gaining their attention on me. "Run!" I continued hitting the zombies. "Freaking zombies... They're everywhere! What's going on?!" I cried leading the zombies downstairs.

I killed the first three at the top of the stairs and as I made my way down I killed the other three. "Holy crap, you weren't Eve kidding. You weren't even kidding Mr. Gladstone." I spotted another zombie in the corner of the building by the window. "There's another one in here let me get it real quick." I said sneaking over to the zombie cornering it and slashed it with my sword till it was dead.

I sighed of relief as I walked back over to Mr. Gladstone. "What was that even about Mr. G? What're we gonna do?"

"We've got to get somewhere safe!" He replied.

"You almost died Mr. Gladstone..." I said concerned.

"I'm okay, I promise!" He told me.

I sighed. "You really gotta watch it."

"Listen! You've got to get underground!"

"G-g-go underground?"

"YES!"

"Why would I go underground?"

"The government... They plan to NUKE the city!"

"No..."

"YES!"

"Your-" I started but he cut me off.

Leave now! There's no time!"

"Oh my god..."

"They're launching the missile soon!"

I wasn't sure how to process this... There's no way they would nuke the entire city! People, families live here!

"Not the whole city..."

"The WHOLE city..."

I looked away for a moment. I guess this wasn't really an option. I needed to leave or I would die.

"Then I guess I... Got to go underground... Alright... Well... Thanks for the heads up Mr. Gladstone... Sorry it had to end like this..."

"Good luck TrueMU..." He said.

"I-I'll see you around." I said and turned towards the door.

As I stepped outside I looked around. "Ok, I have to get out of here." I looked in my inventory and grabbed my steak and put it in my hot bar and ate one. I was really hungry. "Eat some steak... There are zombies out here... I don't even know what to do... I gotta get home, I gotta get home." I told myself as I started sprinting towards home.

I looked around as I ran wanting to be cautious of any zombies. I looked to my left and saw a creature that was green but it wasn't like a zombie. "What the heck is that?!" I cried and quickly turned to get away from the creature. It hissed after me but didn't follow. I just kept running. No signs of human life, destruction in the city... This was no longer a beautiful day, this was a nightmare...

Nobody saw it coming... The bombs only made things worse as the infection spread to the rest of the earth... Now no one os left... Just me. Others managed to escape to mars... The rest... Left here for dead. I think it's time I leave this planet too... There's nothing left here for me.
