You, Ray, Emma, and Norman are fourteen. The shipment age is fifteen. Everyone is aged up three years older than their original age. :))

If the book seems short, it really isn't. each chapter has at least 2000 words, while I usually aim for 4000. plus this is only the first book of the series. this covers their time at grace field, escaping, etc. the second book will be after the escape +life outside the walls, and entering the human world. and if I decide to, the third book will take place in New York when the demon world monstrosity is finally over.

I never pondered too much as to why 99% of my childhood was a blur, as it seemed like none of the other children could remember theirs either. I can recall asking mom about it once though, she just told me that it was completely normal, that nobody can remember. Determined to prove her wrong, I went around asking everyone else in the orphanage if they could remember anything at all. Most of them stood there for a moment, thinking as hard as their little brains could before simply shaking their head and saying something along the lines of, "Sorry, I forget." I'd respond by nodding with a smile or just telling them that it was fine.

However, someone, in particular, remembered bits here and there of their past. It was Ray, of course. He's probably the smartest one in Grace Field, though others will say it's Norman, It's Ray. I'll never tell him that, I'm too proud to admit he's actually got a brain in that crowded head of his. I envy him. I envy his bravery, the way he's mean yet so kind, the way that without even putting in an effort the younglings adore him.
