it's quiet out today, peaceful even.
the sky is mostly blue other than the few fluffy white clouds scattered throughout the clear sky.
I lie with my limbs spread apart on the green grass that gently poked into my skin, causing itchiness.
Ray sits beside me, eyes stuck on whichever book he was reading today.

"I really hope the plan goes well." I breath out with an arm draped over my stomach, staring at the sky.
If the plan doesn't go well, I'm not sure what'll happen. I'd assume that the escape will be a fail. and if we are unsuccessful with coming up with another, we're totally screwed. Ray would be shipped, and it would be gameover. well, I guess we could still escape somehow, but it wouldn't be the same without Ray. if I were to be separated from him, I think I'd just kill myself. my stomach lurched at the thought.

"It will." he said in a nonchalant way, keeping his eyes on the book sitting in his lap.

I sigh, "you're only saying that to make me feel better. you actually have no clue. you're nervous, too. I can tell."

he paused before placing the book down, resting his chin on his right knee as he stared down at me. "I wouldn't say I'm nervous, but I'm defiantly not 100% sure that it'll plan out successfully. "

I hummed in response and shut my eyes; feeling the warmth of the sun shine against my s/c skin. "what if it doesn't?"

"then we'll have to come up with a new plan." the ravenette responded plainly,

"okay." I exhale with a sigh, giving up on the conversation.

I rested there for a moment, just soaking up the sunshine as I ran my fingers back and fourth through the grass.
I jumped slightly, startled, when I heard the shutter of a camera. Ray's camera.
I opened my eyes quickly, darting my gaze at the boy who held the camera towards me.
"what are you doing?" I lifted an eyebrow.

"taking a photo of you." Ray smirked, waving the photo around to dry it.

"hey," I frowned. "throw it out, it's bad enough thinking about how others picture me. I don't want to see it," I lifted myself up to my knees, leaning forward to try and grab it from him.

He stood up, holding it up high so that I couldn't reach.
I stood to my feet as well, standing on my tip toes and launching myself upwards, but it was no use as he was taller than me.

Ray examined the photograph as he held it above his head, smiling. "beautiful as always."

I blushed, "throw it out!"

he laughed, looking down at me. "no way, I'm keeping this forever."

I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms tightly over my chest. "I hate you."

"you know you love me," he exhaled.

I jumped up once more to try and catch him by surprise, but ended up failing and bringing us both down to the ground.
we both laughed as we laid on the green grass side-by-side, acting as if our hands aren't brushing against eachother everytime our chests shake of laughter.

I carefully picked the camera up off the grass and held it above us, the lens facing us.

"how do I take a photo?" I questioned with a grin.

he reached over me and faintly tapped on a red button.

"oh, thank you." I clicked the button which caused the camera to shutter.
I shook the photograph of us around, allowing it to dry.

I inhaled sharply before looking at it.
I wasn't going to lie, I actually liked this photo. we laid beside eachother on the grass, smiling. it's rare for me to catch Ray smiling. now, I have a photo to prove to everyone that he truly does smile.

I'm going to keep this photo with me forever, until the day I die.

hopefully, that won't be for a long time.
but I can feel it at the pit of my chest.
it's coming sooner than expected.
either my days are coming to an end, or something absolutely horrible is about to happen.
