I scoffed, "and you do?"
the brunette-pigtailed girl rolled her eyes, resting one of her thin legs on the other. "that isn't a fair argument, I'm dead."
"that isn't my fault," I looked away from her and stared off into the dark abyss, gnawing on my cheek.
"honestly, yeah, it kind of is," a sad sigh exited her pink lips. "but you don't remember."
I shook my head no and parted my lips, "I'm sorry," was all I could say.
the girl waved her hand in the air, brushing my words away. "it's okay, it was an accident, we weren't prepared properly."
"could you please elaborate?" I inquired, confused.
she gazed at me with glossy eyes and a sad expression overcoming her features, "next time."
"next time?" I furrowed my eyebrows, irritated. "why not now?"
"we don't have any time left for tonight, y/n." she smiled at me, standing to her feet. the girl raised her soft hand to my cheek, caressing it with her thumb.
"but I've only just arrived-"
"next time, promise."

"wake up sleepyhead!" the familiar giggle of Yvette ran through my ears, waking me from my rest.
my features softened into a smile as I ruffled up her black locks. "I must've slept in again, did I?"
